"Now, Bavel is a great spot to have dinner and people watch! It was a busy night which I’m sure tends to happen so be sure to have a reservation. Everything we got to eat was a hit. Cocktails were good and our server was good too. An overall great dining experience, highly recommend the chicken liver pate."
"Bavel shows up on nearly every list of top LA restaurants, and after dining here I can absolutely see why: everything was absolutely delicious. I visited alone on a bustling Friday evening without reservations and I was immediately seated at the bar (full service) where I was hosted by the kindest bartender imaginable who was clearly knowledgeable about the menu. I can’t recommend the slow roasted lamb neck shawarma and the fried quail more highly. From outstanding service to the unforgettable menu, Bavel is easily my new favorite restaurant in LA!"
"This is my second year returning to Bavel for my anniversary - I guess it’s a tradition now! First and foremost, the service here is really what sets this place apart from other similarly priced restaurants. The staff goes above and beyond to be attentive to you, making recommendations and your experience top notch. The ambience is also relaxing and intimate, I love all the natural plants and lighting. As a vegan, I appreciate a restaurant that can accommodate me. Our sever easily marked up items I could eat which made ordering easy. As a middle eastern inspired restaurant, I would appreciate a tad more vegan options as this is normally an easy cuisine for me to find food in. But that being said, the oyster mushroom offering is AMAZING. One of the best vegan entrees I’ve had in LA and has even impressed my meat eating husband. Speaking of him, he got the lamb which fell easily off the bone and left him talking about this dish for weeks after. Overall, I love Bavel, and would recommend this spot to folks looking for a great dinner experience."
"Whoever left this place less than five stars was definitely having a rough day. This place is beyond amazing and probably one of the best meals I've ever had. We sat at the bar, service was superb. Mullen was our waiter/bartender and he was AMAZING! Highly recommend."
"Went here for new year eve dinner. Service was excellent, we got food and wine recommendations from our server and they did not disappoint. Oyster mushroom kabab is not something I've seen elsewhere and they cooked it perfectly. The lamb rack was cooked to medium rare, incredibliy tender, and the meat quality is superb. Now the drawbacks: some items on the menu look similar to Bestia's even though the cuisine is different. The other table ordered the same dishes and I noticed our portion was noticeably less. Plus, $4 for a single piece of pita is plain ridiculous. I have been to Bestia twice and will surely go back, but probably not gonna try Bavel again."
