"Fantastic! I had the schnitzel and was to die for. The place was booked solid, so I had to eat at the bar, but since I was alone, it worked out great. I was able to chat with some great people. I will definitely go again next time I'm in Milwaukee! If I could give it 10 stars, I would."

"We came to Milwaukee for a day from Chicago, and given the German historical connections here, came for a German lunch. Despite it being very off peak and us being one of only a few patrons, the good music and friendly staff made up for lack of other customers. The food was really tasty, and the waiter friendly with a good knowledge of the beers on offer (which he let us taste before we bought). Highly recommend for anyone visiting Milwaukee! Thanks."

"We stopped in for lunch. It was busy the night before (New Year's Day) and we didn't have a reservation so we came back for lunch. They don't have a separate lunch menu so we had a choice of ordering dinner or appetizers. We were a little confused by the menu and needed to look up what's what. The samplers were a good idea but despite the price are not twice the food which was a little confusing. The food we ordered was good. Drinks were good. The atmosphere was really cool with a lot of great decor. Overall we just felt like it was off though. With no separate lunch menu and not understanding the food it was hard to figure out what to order. The sampler was very expensive for the size. We ordered a beer in a boot but it came in a stein instead."

"I was part of a group and we had a fabulous time with Christie as our server. Make sure to walk around and explore the restaurant. The fixtures are authentic and there are cool photos of celebs and former presidents who passed through previously. I could not decide on a dish so I selected a sampler entree which was listed as a favorite of JFK. The service took a while but we were certainly in a large group and there was a tour group that visited as well. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is interested in connecting with Milwaukee's German heritage."

"I had a salad, not a big fan of German food, everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. Was their mom's 93th birthday. We drove her to Milwaukee cause her son and daughter-in-law were working there. So we had a good time"
