"This was my girlfriend’s and my second time coming here. The first was underwhelming and over a year ago so I figured why not give them another shot? Well, our food came out an hour late (the people next to us ordered after us, ate their food and left before we even received our order), not to mention there were about four things wrong. We were at least able to get the surcharges for the cheese we never received in the omelette and upgraded pancakes we never ordered taken off, but our server didn’t seem to really care and we weren’t offered any compensation for the other errors or additional wait. Paid and gave a good tip because as a former food service employee I know how things can sometimes be, but due to the poor service, won’t be returning to this establishment again."

"My favorite breakfast place in town at the moment! Best breakfast burrito in town, hands down. Great food, generous portions, amazing service and fun atmosphere! I highly recommend Canela Cafe for breakfast, lunch or brunch! You won’t be disappointed and you definitely won’t leave hungry"

"Nice place and love the atmosphere. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Great menu and lots of unique dishes. I had the chicken and biscuits with chorizo gravy, which was really good. The wife had the mexican style Benedict that came with poached eggs, chorizo and avocado. Let me tell you, it was delicious! Son got oreo pancakes and the kid's cheeseburger, which were very tasty as well. One thing i loved about this place was that their portions were very generous and well worth it. Definitely would come here again when we are in the area!"

"This was my first time, and it certainly will not be my last. This is a fantastic eatery on the east side that is definitely a hidden gem. The service was spectacular. . . From the greeter to our waitress. Just pure joy!!! The food was really good. Had I known the breakfast potatoes were not going to be seasoned, I would’ve chose the seasonal fruit which looked amazingly sweet. We had the Monte Christo and the classic breakfast with bacon, eggs, fruit and pancakes. The atmosphere was bright and airy. They had a constant flow of customers. I noticed that a lot of UBER EATS drivers were coming through. I think people are missing out on the experience of the restaurant. I will be back."

"A good independent eatery in a bustling area of the east side. We had the Rueben, grilled cheese sandwich, feta and spinach omelette, French toast, and chocolate chip pancakes. All were good choices. Prices are appropriate. The service was excellent. The bathrooms are clean, updated, and well maintained. Outdoor dining in available and is located on the sidewalk in front of the main entrance. No parking lot - metered street parking nearby."
