"I’m staying at Chula Vista for a conference. I tried to grab a quick lunch at Kilbourn City Grill before the conference began. I was glad to see there was a salad bar available but weren’t very many options and it seemed overpriced considering that. I also got a bowl of chili which was tasty. Tonight my kids and I hit the waterpark and were looking for a quick dinner before bedtime. We figured the grill would be faster than the chophouse and guessed the to-go counter would be closed. We were seated by the bar immediately. It was overwhelming to have 5 TVs on and facing us. No one stopped at our table for 20 minutes, at which point the bartender noticed my kids flopped over and fading fast, and brought us some waters and took our order. He was very friendly and possibly the highlight of our meal even though he only stopped by for a minute. I also requested to change the channel on our booth-side TVs, so he brought the remotes, but one didn’t work. We waited another 15 minutes or so for our food (which was just a pizza and a cup of chili). They brought a bowl instead of a cup of chili. The barbecue chicken pizza was very doughy, with oddly rubbery chicken slices. The crust seemed to be brushed with garlic butter or something as it was tastier than I expected. Through the rest of our meal, our waitstaff only stopped by long enough to ask a question and get a “yes” or “no” and then left. I had to ask twice for the boxes we needed."
