"My 86 year-old dad and step-mother just sold their home and moved into an apartment and they needed a washer & dryer. They went to Wesco and picked out what they wanted and were told to pay half up front and the other half would be paid upon delivery. My dad paid for everything, up front and in cash. They were given a receipt, which was inadvertently tossed before the delivery was made. They were told that Wesco does not keep records of cash payments and were forced to pay another $612. If this is how they conduct their business, then shame on them. My dad lives on a very fixed imcome and apparently it was noted that he is elderly and naive. This infuriates me so much. I cannot believe that there is no record of a transaction just because it's cash, but that tells me that maybe the IRS should investigate other cash transactions. Do the right thing and give them their money back!"
