"The food here is amazing! Especially if you go on a Friday and get the fish fry, 4 out of our five member got the fish and we were not sad about it. The portion here are great and if you pair it with all you can eat it is heavenly. The downsides of this restaurant is that it’s small (so definitely get a reservation) and it’s extremely loud for how many people are in the restaurant. When we walked in the host did not even look at us in the face and was a bit grumpy and rude when we said we had another person in our party. Overall great food here and the service is good except for our experience with the host."
"We had a party of 5 and sat in a boot in the bar area. The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Everything from popovers to bread, soup salad and entree's were delicious. Our granddaughters are picky eaters and cleaned their plates. I had the king cut prime rib and I can't remember ever having better. I didn't catch our server's name but have to give a shout-out because she was awesome. This was our first time here but definitely not our last."
"We drove in from St. Paul seeking out the traditional Wisconsin supper club experience - and the Laurel didn’t disappoint. The popovers were delightful - steaks were delicious too. Everything here is homemade. Most of all, the atmosphere made the evening. The dim lighting, the dark colors, the wood paneling - and the old school vibe. Would love to come back!"
"This was our second time at Laurel Supper Club. Our first experience was as good as this time. The main dining area is small, but still plenty of room around each table to be comfortable and not feel like you’re practically in someone else’s lap! Taste of food was amazing. Our favorite is the Popovers with homemade honey butter they serve warm almost immediately when you sit down. They serve homemade salad dressing with their house salad as well. The signature Parmesan peppercorn dressing and blue cheese dressing are among the best we’ve tasted. Wait staff and service was phenomenal. We will definitely come back many more times even though this supper club is over an hour drive from our home. This club has an old time feel and is decorated with the same charm."
"I did not want to write a negative review, but it was just that bad and it was my 40th birthday, the actual day. I made reservations weeks in advance only for my wife and I to be ushered to a high-top table at the end of the bar. The dining room was wide open, but maybe because we went regulars? I have never been here, so I thought those popovers were supposed to be cold (was told by friends they should be warm...go figure). After a couple cold popovers, we got French onion soup. Mine was so salty it burned my taste buds and I had to drink water the rest of the night trying to get my taste buds back (great way to spend your 40th). My wife had a huge bay leaf in her 3rd spoonful, so that course was over. Then salads...my wife got a piece of saran wrap after a few bites (waitress said they are pre-made and wrapped, so that's where it came from). So salads were pushed to the side. Prime rib came out and was definitely a warmed up leftovers from Friday...gray piece of meat. Moral of the story, if you go early on a Saturday, even with reservations, you get all the cold leftovers from Friday, get seated at the end of a bar against the wall, and one very memorable 40th birthday dinner."
