"3.5 / 5.0 - Many things right, important things wrong Such mixed feelings; great decor, super friendly and attentive staff with well presented food that just tastes a little blah, expensive for what it is, in a very noisy environment packed with people. My ratings always get decided when I ask myself if I would go back. In this case I wouldn’t rush back. Food 3 / 5 - Presentation of the food was excellent, this is clearly a focus area. Yet every dish was just a little disappointing. The mini-pancakes…do not get them unless you are just having a snack. $15 for the smaller stack of pancakes was hilarious when you can get a large stack for $20. Wait staff would do well to confirm you understand what you’re ordering. Souflegg was a good egg but tasted of sesame oil, quite dominantly, potatoes were deep fried and crispy but lacked flavor, and the biscuit/scone was buttery and tasty but barely warm. It is served on a platter just big enough for the food and left no room to move things around. Chicken and waffle was good but didn’t love the croissant waffle too much, seems like they just smash a croissant into a waffle press. Coffee was good. Overall there is a huge menu which is a blessing and curse. Lots of choice but in my experience it’s hard to do everything well when you have a massive wide ranging menu. Atmosphere 3 / 5 - Great decor and nice design for sure. Unfortunately, it’s very noisy and lots of kitchen smells. Even before the tables were full the sounds from the back were very loud as you could hear the cling of dishes and cutlery being washed or stacked or something. Parts of the restaurant really caught the waft cooking smells from the kitchen. Then the tables filled and they are jammed close together so it was extremely noisy and just not the type of environment I enjoy. The birthday song is a bit much as is the lite club music that pumps in the background. Value for money 3 / 5 - For the amount of options around I just don’t find this restaurant good value for money. The mini pancakes were laughable and $25-35 for a main dish is fine if the food is great, which it wasn’t, nor was it large. Staff 5.0 / 5.0 - Everyone was so friendly, they were buzzing around and you never felt left waiting. Great job hiring the right people and enough of them."
"Had an amazing brunch experience here!! I had always wanted to go to the San Francisco location because I had heard somebody great things about it, so I was so excited when this new location opened up in Santa Monica!! The atmosphere is super bright and the service was super attentive. Our waitress Pat was outstanding and so kind!! This menu has a wide variety of food options, so everyone can find something they like. Definitely order the millionaires bacon, that was so so good!! Also absolutely loved the truffle dirty coffee and einspanner lattes!! The pumped up Ramyun is also probably one of the coolest dishes I’ve ever ordered. Such a great breakfast, and we will absolutely be returning soon!!"
"Wow one of best dining experiences In a while for breakfast… great service and very fresh… my taste buds are on fire due to such delicious foods… orange juice was fresh squeezed and millionaire bacon was to die for…. Definitely worth the money… Highly recommended you come check it out.."
"During a short visit to LA after exploring the Grove, I decided to stop by the Santa Monica branch of Sweet Maple for the first time. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, it became evident that this place offers more than just delicious food. The interior is meticulously designed, with a predominant use of white and light colors that exude warmth and an organic feel. I was particularly impressed by the elegant lighting fixtures and the beautiful flowers that adorned the space. The food at Sweet Maple was not only delicious but also well-balanced. The standout for me was the Purple Ube Latte, which not only boasted gorgeous purple colors but also had a delightful texture. My friends and I had a wonderful time, thanks to the professional and attentive care provided by the staff. The fine arts level interior added an extra layer to the overall experience, making it feel almost surreal. Sweet Maple truly offers a unique and memorable dining experience."
"Came in for Christmas and was surprised they were open! Was also not super busy (late brunch) and we were welcomed in with warm service. I heard these guys had a location in Northern California was so was happy to hear they have one in Los Angeles. We ordered few of their coffees and few of their sweet and savory breakfast items. And whoa! Almost everything we had was amazing. Portions were good but we shared everything family style. You’re getting enhanced Thai food, so if you love Thai flavor profile you’re getting something heightened a bit but not too traditional. It works with a modern twist. Presentation was really cute too. Definitely try the blueberry cream French toast. It was all of our favorites. And then Lychee Cheesecake (if they have it). We were bummed out the Thai tea cake was sold out but gives us a reason to go again!"
