"Tartine in Santa Monica is a bustling haven for pastry enthusiasts and coffee aficionados alike. Nestled in the heart of the city, the bakery exudes a lively atmosphere with its constant hustle and bustle. As you step in, the aroma of freshly baked breads and pastries envelops you, creating an irresistible allure. The assortment of breads and pastries on display is a visual feast. While we unfortunately missed the coveted country bread loaves that tend to vanish by 10 lam, the porridge loaf we opted for proved to be a delightful alternative. Each item on offer boasts a meticulous craftsmanship, evident in the intricate layers and golden crusts that promise a delectable experience. The coffee selection complements the bakery's offerings perfectly. Whether you prefer a bold espresso or a velvety latte, Tartine ensures that each cup exudes the artistry of coffee-making. The rich, aromatic blends serve as a perfect accompaniment to the array of pastries, elevating the overall experience. In conclusion, Tartine in Santa Monica stands out not only for its mouthwatering pastries and artisanal breads but also for the vibrant atmosphere it cultivates. While missing out on the famed country bread was a slight disappointment, the quality and variety of the available offerings, coupled with the energetic ambiance and attentive staff, make Tartine a must-visit for anyone seeking a sensory delight in the heart of Santa Monica."
"Love the ambience of this place from when you enter and place your order to even eating outside this old church just has vintage feel. Note that there’s a 4% surcharge that is added to all food and beverages Ricotta, toast was awesome just wasn’t a fan of the granola at the top it is rockhard and hard to bite through Their egg sandwich was awesome just didn’t feel it was worth $13 for such a small sandwich which consisted mostly bread We had their croissants, which are awesome, fresh flaky, but felt like it was something missing I just have an affinity towards Chaumont bakery over this spot. There’s free valet parking in the front or you can find street parking around the perimeter ."
"Outstanding brunch worth the high prices. The food quality is top notch. As a German this is one of the few good bread refuges you get in the city. I just had the warm bread with butter and jam. Bread was amazing, butter of top quality and the jam absolutely delicious. The morning bun was a great "dessert", although a tad too hard. My friend let me try his smoked salmon toast and it was top notch with all ingredients working together very well. Atmosphere is great as well, especially when the light is shining through the old church windows around noon. Yes it is pricey - my German family would faint to hear I paid ~$10 for some bread with butter and jam. Yet, the quality, location and atmosphere make it a good value for money. Definitely recommend."
"Tartine Bakery in Santa Monica offers a beautiful location with inviting outdoor seating. Visiting on a Friday morning, the ambiance was delightful, though securing a seat was a bit challenging due to popularity. The brunch menu is impressive. Everything we ordered was great, but the standout was undeniably the banana cream tart—a must-try if you have a sweet tooth. The combination of a charming setting and delectable treats makes Tartine a recommended spot for a delightful morning indulgence."
"Beautiful building. Clearly used to be a church. Service was pretty good for the most part. And the food was delectable. Big glass windows let in lots of light making photos of the food incredible looking. Parking wasn't too difficult to find even on the streets. My only negative here was that the restaurant staff decided to hurriedly encourage everyone to leave early the day before Labor Day, by blasting music for a good 15 seconds at 1:50pm. Closing time was 2pm. It was so loud that it scared everyone in the dining room and those seated outdoors too. It wasn't initially clear that the staff was responsible for this, until everyone looked at the kitchen and notice a bunch of giggles and chortles. If folks are so unhappy about working the day before Labor Day, they should either take the day off or encourage their managers to shut the restaurant down. Or just walk over to each table and tell them that you're about to shut down (like adults). Lots of people left immediately after that music blast. Honestly kind of ruined the entire experience."
