"I just received a $7K+ custom-made sectional couch from Bassett. I do not recall being so disappointed last time. For this price point, you expect impeccable quality, and I did not think that you could get such junk from a reputable American company. I selected my couch based on a model in their showroom with minor tweaks, and what I received was not even close to what I saw in the store; the showroom model had elegant square pillows, and what I got looked like a caricature; all pillows were bloated like overinflated balloons. This looks ugly, and the vertical pillows now take up too much room, so the place to sit is very narrow. Chaise and the rest of the couch are not leveled. There is a big 1.5-inch vertical gap between the two. There is no single straight seam, and some seams look particularly crooked, even on the armrest with a solid base under the fabric, where it should be easy to make it straight. There is a big sticking bump on the chaise. I would not expect such poor quality even from a low-end "Made in China" brand. This brand is at least five times overpriced for the quality it delivers. At least they try to compensate for poor quality with accommodating and attentive staff. In-store selection is OK, but they have a lot of catalog options. Unfortunately, what you see in the catalog and what you get do not quite match."
