"I've been a sleep number customer for over 30 years and will not get anything else. Just got a new smart bed and love how it tracks my sleep, HR and HRV."
"BEWARE It was time for a new mattress. My sister recommended the Sleep Number bed. We purchased the i8 with all the bells and whistles. Please note, some people love the sleep number, but it's not for everyone, and it WAS NOT for us. In store experience was good. Friendly, helpful, but they forget to tell you everything (the fine print). When we purchased the bed, they didn’t mention a return/pick up fee of a whopping $250 fee to pick up the bed should you decide it’s not for you. The only thing told to us was "You have 100 days to return your mattress for a FULL REFUND if you don't like it w/no restocking fee". Nothing was mentioned about a $250 pick up fee and the contract does not state a $250 fee...it just says there's a fee. Sketchy. And no, you cannot bring it to the store yourself to avoid that cost. The Bad: 1. Like I said already, it’s going to cost you $250 to pick up the bed if you don’t like it. They really try to delay the pick-up. They scheduled ours over 6 weeks out. There is no mention of this price in the contract. 2. Know and understand that the adjustable bed frame is NOT RETURNABLE. This was made very clear to us, so we knew this, but what we didn’t know is that the $4,000 bed frame we bought with all the bells and whistles doesn’t work on other adjustable beds. The bed frame will work, but the bells and whistles WILL NOT. Our advice – Go on Facebook marketplace or OfferUp and buy an adjustable bedframe that someone is trying to sell for pennies on the dollar. There are a ton of them. Any adjustable bedframe will do if you don’t care about the bells and whistles and, in most cases, you will find someone like us who has wasted $4K on an overpriced Sleep Number frame and want to get rid of theirs. We chose to keep ours and bought a mattress from another place. If you are dying to try out the Sleep Number bed but you are unsure that you will like it, I would suggest you buy the REFUNDABLE bed (knowing that it’s going to cost you $250 to return it) but don’t buy the frame. You can always get that later once you know that the bed is for you and you are certain that you are going to keep the bed. 3. Keep in mind that when you go to the store, the beds feel completely different than how they feel at home. They try to tell you that it is because of the "break in period" but we're not convinced of this. At the store, the mattress had a combination memory foam/air feel….at home it was all air. It literally felt like we were just like sleeping on one of those guest mattresses. Complete misery for us. Some people love this feel, but we don't. Coming off of a memory foam mattress to this caused us to have horrendous nights of sleep. 4. When you call to complain at Sleep Number, they do their best to get you to keep their mattress. They even sent us a foam topper, which we really liked, to try out to see if it would help our sleep. It did, but only temporarily. At the same time, they gave us a $900 discount, whether we kept the bed or not, which they said would be evenly applied to our balance (the bed and frame) – but this was NOT TRUE. They put that $900 balance on the bed, therefore reducing the amount of the refund. Two supervisors later and after hearing the recorded call of what we were told – THEY STUCK TO THEIR GUNS and did not evenly distribute the discount. This is what we call a lack of integrity by the company. They have to get you somehow. With so many mattress places to consider, I would steer everyone away from the Sleep Mattress company solely based on their lack of integrity. If you love that air mattress feel, there are other contenders...isense, king coil, Saatva, etc. From our experience, Sleep Number is just a $300 glorified air chamber wrapped up in cheap foam (take a look inside the bed) that sells for $5K + from a company who lies and doesn’t honor their word. The lack of integrity from this company was the killer for us. Would never recommend."
"Sleep Number Store, at East Pacific Highway, Torrance, California. This store has dual air that adjust the comfort of the mattress to make it soft or firm on either side and the bed will automatically adjust to relieve pressure and give you support."
"My partner and I purchased our first sleep number bed this afternoon at the Torrance location. At each step of the way, we were treated with kindness, all of our questions were answered, each item was explained, and we were able to make a decision that best fit our needs. Alicia was the most helpful sales person in recent memory! She was able to walk us through the entire process with clarity, understanding, practicality, and humor. The time flew by, and we left feeling confident about our big purchase. I would recommend Alicia 10 times out of 10 to answer all of your questions and set you up with your sleep number bed."
