"Do you need a key to access this beach? A resident just told me it was the only way to open the gate. Google says it is public."
"If you can find your way to Little Dume Beach you will be in Shangrala. LD is secluded only open during low tide and a surfers delight."
"This is the most fascinating, intimate beach I've ever been to. It is private access, and I went with a friend, Arnie, who lives in the neighborhood above the cliffs, as well as with Nick, the friend I was staying with in Culver City. Not crowded at all. Only about 25 people on the whole beach, since the access is private. As you can see from the entry pic, you ain't getting in from the land access. You'll have to walk on the beach from a public access to get to use it. It was my first experience with the Pacific ocean, as well as my first time in California. I lost my footing once I got waist deep and the surf rolled me back up onto the beach like a fat, wet burrito. Even with that, the 20 minutes i spent on this beach will always be one of my fondest memories."
"I got access to this fabulous beach from Point Dume Natural Preserve, it's a little bit of a challenge to go down but it's absolutely worth it, especially for surfers, it's less crowded when other beach are busy , if you are more of beach walking, head out on this for about 2.7 miles and you are at Paradise Cove beach,"
"On Friday, we had originally been planning to do a hike, but two-thirds of our party was extremely exhausted from activities earlier in the week. It was a shame since I’d been looking forward to doing the dawn mine hike. So, instead, we went to Malibu and relaxed on the beach for a few hours. This wound up being a great way to unwind after such an incredibly packed week. The waters were quite cold, that day, and the waves were remarkably strong--strong enough that I didn’t go in, despite how much I’d enjoyed my time in the ocean on Tuesday. Instead, I just sat on a towel in the sand with my friends for a few hours, enjoying one of our last few days in Los Angeles. We were going to split off into pairs, that night, so we left the beach early to get ready for our planned evenings. I didn’t get to experience sunset or evening at this beach, but I can imagine that it would have been absolutely mesmerizing. I hope to go and see it again during the golden hours, someday."
