"My family and I have loved 7-11 for years. I grew up with 7-11 as my favorite quick stop store without a problem. I would take my kids to the local 7-11 and continue the tradition for snack etc. I took my client for a few things to the local 7-11 on Portola Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA. The Mexican/Hispanic cashiers were having a good ole time talking and serving Mexican customers. Once the Mexican customers left, the 7-11 attendants wouldn't even acknowledge that my client and I were standing there to order and then when they did they were rude and gave us a bad attitude for no reason at all, like WE were an inconvenience. Needless to say, this was extremely embarrassing, hurtful, and inappropriate for business/customer conduct, and in a neighborhood that I've resided in for years! I returned to the same 7-11 twice after, wanting to salvage my admiration for the business. It happened again two more times from the same Mexican employees. You can take it however you want but this is not the first prejudice we've encountered from HISPANIC/MEXICAN employees when we go to our local venues. It once was good. But after that treatment, I told those cashiers we would take our order else where, and we did. What happened to our traditional professional courtesy? It's been traded to tolerate the intolerable. I have since boycotted that store and have made every effort to make public via word of mouth, web reviews, and a complaint to 7-11's corporate office. Racism from Mexicans towards non-Mexicans WILL NOT be tolerated. Thanks again for the memories."
