"I was looking for a deli in Encino to go to after my doctor's appointment, Uncle Bernie's DID NOT disappointment! I had THE BEST Monte Cristo sandwich! I also had exceptional potato pancakes. My husband loved his Maria burrito. A fine example of a New York deli."

"Very disappointing and very unhygienic wait staff. One of them used our table as a step to reach a bottle of wine on a shelf. His shoes were on the table. We were then seated at this very same table as if he thought we wouldn't know. This profound disregard for food hygiene and their customers is something I have never witnessed at any restaurant. Uncle Bernie's may as well be serving slop from a mop bucket."

"We have eaten at Uncle Bernie's delicatessen restaurant many times and have never left hungry. This is our favorite New York style deli in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. The prices are fair, the food is great and the portions are large. I usually have the open faced Pastrami and Chopped li.ver sandwich with a side of fries while my wife goes for the half sandwich/half soup (usually delicious mushroom and barley). I love this place and recommend it without any reservation."

"A few months ago Uncle Bernie’s didn’t have good reviews, I decided not to visit then but I was in the area and double checked the reviews, I am glad I gave them a try! First off, sooo clever of them to use old bagels for bagel chips and butter. Of course, you need the pickles….. The matzo ball soup was very flavorful and delish. The corned beef sando and fries were delightful don’t forget to add the coleslaw to the sando!"
