The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center is located at 200 Palm Canyon Drive in Borrego Springs, California. This park serves as a popular tourist attraction and travel agency, offering visitors a chance to explore the stunning desert landscapes of California. Visitors can bring their dogs to the campgrounds and designated park roads, as well as the Visitor Center/Campground Trail. Campsites can be reserved up to six months in advance, with bookings available from October 1st through April 30th. The park also has a "Park Watch" program to promote safety and reduce crimes within the park. Visitors can participate by reporting any suspicious activity to the Visitor Center.
A variety of rules and regulations are in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors, including quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, restrictions on the number of vehicles and campers per site, and guidelines for the use of alcohol, fires, and bicycles within the park. The park is also working in partnership with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics to promote responsible outdoor practices and encourage visitors to care for the local desert environment.
During the summer season, visitors are reminded to plan their trips carefully, as temperatures can reach up to 125 degrees during the day. It is important to bring plenty of water, food, and other supplies, as cell coverage may be limited in the desert. "Got to see the bloom in the lower park. Station was friendly, informative and interesting. Watch the short movie! Buy something at the gift shop! It's all good"
"Awesome area to go hiking. Lots to see. Fantastic oasis at the top of Boreggo palm canyon hike."
"Amazing place to visit in the weekend. Almost like going back in time living in a western movie. Had an old western town to visit. Lots of trails to see and walk, watch out for snakes though. Great curves going down and up hold if you like curve roads or ride motorcycles. But great for the family to go and visit. And if you stay at night, up will see all the constellations in the sky due to the area being a dark night society with no lights."
"During our visit in January weekend this place was pretty crowded, long line to pay for park pass. The information line was better. The ranger that helped us was very knowledgeable and friendly. He told us there was a stargazing event that night and told us when to go and where to go. Unfortunately that night wasn’t a clear night so didn’t see much stars."
"Wonderful Visitor Center not to be missed! Highlight is the short video showing the varied fauna and flora during the desert's four seasons. Many displays for young and old alike and a MUST SEE when you are visiting the area. Beautiful collection of desert plants. Such a scenic area! Allow at least an hour to take everything in. They have ADA restrooms and entrances, as well. Don't forget this is a CA State Park area so you'll need to pre-pay at the self-service kiosks and place your ticket on your dash. Plenty of large parking areas for RVs with toads, too!"
