"Parking lots available for a fee or street parking is free as long as you stay within allowed areas. If you pay at 1 state park, it will cover the fee at another as long as it's the same day. Restrooms are available near parking areas, but not along the trail. The trail itself is short but slightly inclined. Several areas have stairs and something to be mindful of. If it's steep going up, it will be steep going down. Once you get to the falls, there are 2 long benches. Sit, relax, and enjoy the sounds. Hopefully, it's all water you hear and not loud guests lol I laid on one of the benches and closed my eyes. I could have fallen asleep there. So peaceful! It's a beautiful area. I hope that once the other trail is opened after bridge damage repair, it will be worth exploring again."
"Absolutely amazing location. Somewhat complicated trail but definitely worth it. Few hard hills. Trip to the waterfall itself is much harder comparing to a trip back."
"The Falls trail is closed but you can get to the falls via the Valley View trail. It is about 1.5 miles round trip from the parking lot with 600 ft elevation gain."
"Want to smell the redwoods and immerse in nature, this is one of the places you could go either for hikes or picnics or camping in Big Sur. Pfieiffer falls trail is closed, however, canyone view trail is open. It is on the more than moderate level as most of it is uphill with great trail. Though we were told 1 mile each way, it is longer than a mile each way. Carry water, cap is recommended as you climb up it can get warmer. Good hiking gear is not essential but helpful. Trail starts at the Big Sur Lodge, walk by the stream for some distance and start the climb."
"Beautiful hike and a great place for a short family camp near water. The hike was not very strenuous, but good shoes recommended. The park charges just $10 for the car for the entire day. However, you don’t even hv to enter the park to get to the trailhead."
