About Us

The Eureka Theater, located at 612 F Street in Eureka, California, is a cultural institution dedicated to educating the public in film, theater, music, and other art forms. The historic facility is maintained for instruction, public performances, displays, exhibits, and events.
Currently, the theater has several projects in progress, including repairing auditorium walls and ceilings, restoring murals, refurbishing 800 theater seats, and reopening the balcony. Thanks to a loan from the Humboldt Area Foundation and Redwood Region Economic Development Commission, many of these projects have been completed.
The next major project for the theater is the rebuilding and restoration of the iconic "EUREKA" sign. A fundraising campaign will be launched to light up this landmark. The theater is in need of support from volunteers and donations to continue these important renovations. If you would like to contribute, please consider signing up to volunteer or donating to the restoration fund.

"A turned of century wonderful theater. They'll play movies from 60s to 90s classics such as Cheech and Chong. Another of Eureka's historic monuments."
"Rocky Horror night. A cult classic and fun interactive experience with beer, wi e and cocktails. It looks like the Eureka Theater is back! Many events upcoming. See you there."
"Good movie selection, love that they have nachos just like the McKinleyville theater. But also like them, the chairs aren't great during a long movie."
"This historical theater is being restored and I recommend checking it out for a movie or one of the other events that take place here. Often they have nice cocktails as well as wine beer and cider available as well as the usual theater snacks!"
"Beautiful historic theater! The restoration crew has done a great job and I can’t wait to see it fully complete. I’m glad there are people that know what a special place Eureka Theater is and put in the work to preserve it. Great movie selection as well that creates a really fun movie watching experience. Being able to watch 30, 50, even 100 year old films in a classic movie theater is such a treat!"
