"I recently stayed at the Travelodge Sacramento, and I must say it was an experience that perfectly matched its 2.5-star rating. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option with some basic amenities, this hotel might be a suitable choice for you. One of the highlights of the Travelodge Sacramento is the convenience of free parking. It's always a relief to find a place to park your car without worrying about extra charges, especially if you're on a tight budget. The hotel also offers a microwave and a mini fridge in the room, which can come in handy for storing snacks or reheating leftovers. The recently tiled bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. They appeared clean and well-maintained, which is essential for any traveler. However, the bathroom itself was quite small, and the water pressure in the shower left much to be desired. So, while it looked nice, practicality could be improved. The room also comes with a TV, which can be a lifesaver on rainy days or when you just want to unwind. The channel selection was decent, and the TV worked fine during my stay. The small AC unit did its job in keeping the room cool, but it was a bit on the noisy side. This might not be an issue for some, but if you're a light sleeper, it could be bothersome. On the downside, the overall condition of the room and common areas showed signs of wear and tear. The furniture and decor appeared outdated, and there were some cleanliness issues that could be addressed. The hotel could benefit from some renovations and freshening up to improve the overall guest experience. The location of the Travelodge Sacramento is convenient if you need to be in the area, but it's not particularly close to downtown or major attractions. However, if you're in town for a specific purpose and just need a place to sleep, this hotel could fit the bill. In conclusion, the Travelodge Sacramento is a budget-friendly option with some basic amenities like free parking, a microwave, a mini fridge, and a TV. The recently tiled bathrooms are a plus, but the overall condition of the hotel could use some improvement. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay and aren't too concerned about luxury or modern amenities, this hotel might be worth considering. However, if you have higher expectations, you may want to explore other options in the area."
"Located right in the heart of midtown. The rooms were ok. Basic. But tv was broken and it took over 10 minutes for the water to warm up. There was a metal base for bed and we would kick it by accident. Soon became super annoying."
"DO NOT STAY HERE. I skipped over cheaper hotels thinking "how bad could it be", and "at least I'm not getting the cheapest hotel". I spent $143 to stay here during the California International Marathon. Upon entering, the air was thick with smell of cleaner. after 30 minutes, I was nauseous to my stomach and went out to dinner, thinking it would clear while I was gone. NOPE. upon returning, I tried airing it out for an hour with my door wide open late at night before getting into the pitiful bed. NOPE. I couldn't sleep because of the fumes. left the window open (despite locals periodically screaming in the streets), cranked the AC unit fan (no fan in the bathroom). Basically could not sleep. even though I had to wake up at 3:15am to run the marathon. the bathroom was disgusting. stained towel, hair stuck to the door, paint splatter everywhere, broken caulking, literally grime all over the ceiling, the list goes on. just really really gross. like a slum lord had been patching it up for decades. the wall art was hung upside down, and the lights were the color of hospital lighting. The bed was bad, but whatever, I'm not that picky. sticky front door you had to kick to open. but god, the smell. everything in my bag reeked when I got home. I was too embarrassed to tell my wife or my friends that I stayed at possibly the worst hotel I have ever seen. and I have been to some bad rooms in China and Turkey. I really wish I could get my money back."
"Just stayed there this past weekend and the place is a total mess. Stayed with 3 other guys in the room and it looked like it wasn't even cleaned. First we had said 2 queen sized beds and we got 2 twins, next it said there was cable and a fridge and a microwave (the TV didn't work and kept saying to contact comcast, and no microwave in the room), went to the AC and it did blow cold but there was holes near it and paint peeling on the walls. Next went into the bathroom and there was only 2 towels for the 4 of us and if you tried to shower there was no bath mat so be careful of slipping, the mirror in the bathroom had a ton of grime and build up on it as if it hadn't been cleaned in a month and to top it off all the doors from the entrance to the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way properly. One thing we got lucky on was there were no bugs on our beds but there were a ton of stains on the blankets/covers. Overall if I could rate a 0 I would but a 1 works and I would recommend to look elsewhere before staying here or pay the little bit of extra for a better hotel. I will be seeing if I am able to contact the BBB and have them see if they can contact this business and hopefully get them to do better before someone at that motel gets really sick or worse."
"First, the place is a dump. No upkeep outside. I was afraid our car would be damaged or stolen. The room had peeled paint. Water was coming up under the bathroom floor - before we used the sink or shower. The shower is set up that you can't help water coming on the floor. We had to use the mat and our 2 towels after we showered to dry it. And, yes, 2 towels. No hand towels and no face towels. ALSO, no wastebasket. We took our garbage with us. I bring Microban Sanitation Spray or Lysol Spray when we stay at any motel. I sprayed the inside and outside if the pillow cases, took the sheets off and sprayed the mattress covers then the sheets, then the bedspread. The bed didn't have any blankets, only sheets and bedspread. No phone in the room. I used my cell to call the office that the TV wouldn't turn on. The owners brothers were send up to fix it. The remote had batteries in it but no back holding them in. The brothers wiggled cords on the receiver which was HANGING below the TV and finally got it working, although the sound would fluctuate from quiet to loud! The mattress had to be ancient. Not only was it uncomfortable, but it hung over the side of what ever it was laying on so you didn't want to sit too close to the sides. Why did we stay? First, the $140.00 was nonrefundable. We are 72 years old and was in Sacramento to go to UC Medical Center for surgery the next morning. It ended up taking us 6 hours to get to the motel from where we live, and we were both exhausted, not to mention, not use to city traffic especially at night. To begin with I called Hotel Med Park which was close to the hospital, they wanted $250 for a night. I asked if there was anything less expensive close by and he contacted this dump of a motel for us, took our credit card number for the reservation and set it all up for us......... thanks for nothing. Had I been thinking straight, I should have gone on line myself and went through one of the online discount sites. I was just too tired and concerned with the surgery. Trust me, take the time to search yourself."
