Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ventura Harbor, an IHG Hotel

"The room doors slam way too loudly. We have stayed at many hotels and hotel doors tend to slam loudly, but these doors were particularly loud, like a truck hit a boulder. On our first night, we thought that there was construction work going on. The next day we realized that it was just guests' room dors slamming shut as each person left the room. Otherwise, room was clean and the hotel breakfast was nice and varied. (Toast, pancake machine, variety of milks, fruits, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, etc)"

"My room faced the marina so I had beautiful sunsets. Overall the room was spacious and comfortable until the last day. There were ants everywhere in the bathroom and kitchenette. Maintenance came right away and took care of the problem"

"Room was very spacious and clean. The balcony had two comfy chairs and an amazing view of the Ventura Harbor. Grounds were clean and quiet. First room had an issue with the restroom toilet not flushing properly but the front desk quickly gave us another room after we complained. Second room was the same. Very clean and tidy."

"The hotel is located right on the marina overlooking the boats or the street if you select a standard room. My husband picked this hotel for me to have a kid free night. Walking into my room, 259, I was shocked at how big it was. There's two doors that take you to your HUGE balcony. It has two chairs and a small table so you can sit outside and enjoy the scenery. Previous reviews complained about a smell. The front does have a smell. But it wasn't overpowering. I had my slider open and couldn't smell it. There is a fridge (no freezer), microwave, and Kueirg machine. Dove products were used for hand washing and bath use. I had a king-size bed, which was comfy. I didn't wake with a sore back. It did sound like Shrek was walking above me around 5am. So I was awake earlier than I was hoping. Check-in and check out were fast and simple. The complimentary breakfast is basic. I was happier with my bag of mini donuts I had in the room to snack on. Wish there was a pool. It's a hotel with rooms. Oh, I think a gym, too. But that's it. I'm still happy with my getaway and would book again. Didn't give it 5 stars because of the stains on the carpet, the spider on the drapes with black marks on them, the no pool."

"I can’t believe this is an IHG property. Did not feel welcome at all. When we booked there was no clear indication of the very unsecured parking that cost $12 a night. The front desk personal were actually quite rude. This was supposed to be a romantic ending to our road trip. When I booked it I thought it would be a great place to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. Thankfully ever other Holiday Inn that we have stayed at was a much better experience. We have no reason to ever stay at this hotel again."
