"Sobar is the perfect lunch spot. Their appetizer selection is wide and yummy. We tried the chicken karaage which was perfect. The soba noodles are made fresh daily as told by the owner and you can truly taste the quality. The spicy sesame sauce was very rich and flavorful, not too spicy. Really recommend the matcha soba tiramisu, very creamy and not too sweet. Very attentive staff with the owner greeting you at the door and lovely music."

"I could go to SOBAR and eat the appetizers any time of the week. So fresh and tasty! And the soba is pretty great, too! Service was awesome and has a chill, modern, clean atmosphere. The sake flights looked amazing, though didn’t try, there is a great sake selection. And the Sapporo on draft looked tasty and cold. Definitely one of my favorite places lately."

"We made dinner reservations for two on NYE and have no regrets. The soba isn't presented as perfectly as the ones you'd get in soba specialty restaurants in Japan, but it absolutely delivers on taste. The buckwheat noodles were light but just the right amount of chewiness. They provide salt for your preferential flavoring, I didn't use any but I can see people LOVE this option. The broth was delicious - both the original and seasoned versions. My husband loved the sake flight and felt the price was very fair. And we threw in two desserts that we weren't expecting to love, but ended up being very happy with. Staff was excellent and beyond attentive. We will be back! Price wise - after the 18% service charge (they're clear that no additional tip is required) and tax, our bill was $146 for the following. - Hotate Crudo Style Sashimi - $18.00 - Gindara Saikyo Yaki - $23.00 - Zaru Soba w/ season - $22.50 - Zaru Soba - $ 18.00 - Sake Flight Junmai - $18.00 (3 glasses) - Yuzu Ice Cream - $3.50 - MATCHA SOBA TIRAMISU - $11.00 - 18% service charge - $20.52 We had no issues street parking (meter) and walking over. Cashless restaurant. I would recommend reservations in order to sit at the bar. The vibes are awesome for dinner."

Items ordered: Soba (reg & spicy dipping sauce + chicken) Dashimaki Karaage Soba was average, skip the dashimaki Karaage turned out to be the highlight of the meal Food on the west side always seems to be over hyped up for some reason. Reviews stating it is "Michelin Star" level quality can be dismissed.. Better soba can be found at Inaba in Torrance Great atmosphere & interior decor Plenty of street parking Unfortunately, average food & 18% mandatory service fee ensures I will not be returning"

"Finally we found our best soba place nearby. Love the bar style dining, love the different choices of dipping sauce for soba noodles. The owner is so friendly and knowledgeable about all the foods, how to eat, what to pair and so on. We'll visit again soon to try out their course menu!"
