Reviews
"Long hikes ranging from easy to moderate level, but very relaxing. Like several other open space preserves and parks in this area, one can find several different habitats if interested. As usual weekends are crowded, and bikers are more frequent. However, even then, plenty of space to relax and enjoy of your own."
"Loved the Long Ridge trail! Beautiful way to spend a Sunday morning! Hardly anyone on the trail too! Highly recommend!"
"We have snow in the Bay Area! The last it snowed this much was 46 years ago. According to a very friendly ranger, the whole place were white with a good few inches of snow in the morning. Most of the snow have already melted when I got there at 3pm, as being shown in the pictures."
"Long Ridge Open Space Preserve is one of our favorite weekend getaway location. There are lots of trails which are very beautiful and can be visited any time of the year. The parking is roadside, so it might be tricky to find parking on public holidays during rush hour. A must visit place if you are looking for some peaceful time with nature."
"Excellent place to hike. You get variety of terrain - from shady forest to exposed ridge with beautiful views. There is some elevation and then it’s mostly flat up top. Difficulty - moderate. Parking - free, off highway. No restrooms. Dogs are welcome on certain trails (watch for signs). Main loop is little over 4 miles but you can easily double that by adding extra trails. Stroller friendly - no. Overall highly recommend it."
