Behind the scenes, culinary maestros with Michelin accolades orchestrate a menu blending Japanese and Korean influences, offering small plates and standout mains. While slightly on the pricier side, the proportions and consistent high quality impress. The crudo, scallop, corn and duck breast emerge as the bench borderline star performers on the menu but let's cut to the chase – the pork katsu steals the show. This main dish is not just great; it's the undisputed superstar of the menu. Reservations are needed as the space is intimate but does not feel cramped once seated. Hibi is a standout destination and proves that good dining can be found in unassuming places."

"I came here for sushi as advertised , they had no sushi rolls for some reason . The had a make shift menu of their attempt gourmet Japanese food. Completely expensive and small Un-filling portions . The owner kept comming over and explaining each dish. He was a weirdo. Completely sweaty and mumbling. It was awkward and long and interrupting our dinner conversations. The food was taking forever so my date and I finished our cokes and ordered another. The waitress (Who was lovely) put in the order for our second cokes and we heard the owner say to her “they ordered 4 cokes? Is that a mistake ?? Wow “ implying we are fat or something? The food was honestly not good and I don’t get how they’re trying to be a gourmet restaurant when it’s literally So tiny and in a shopping center with a view of a parking lot out the window. Atmosphere inside is trash the service is terrible and the food tasted awful. The owner is a complete weirdo. We are never coming back And I do not recommend going here to anyone. If you want good Japanese food that’s not sushi there are so many places around that are way more Tasty and better dinner atmosphere inside. Waste of my time and money."

"I’m usually the one to gate keep my favorite restaurants but this place is so good that the people deserve to know!! The service, the food, the ambiance.. a perfect blend of things to make this experience one of the best in LA. All ingredients sourced locally and the lengths this restaurant goes to romance each ingredient right in front of you had me in a choke hold. Get the bara uni toast… thank me later lol"
