Reviews
"I had high hopes based on the reviews but ended up disappointed. The tempura was great, but the hand rolls fell short. They used the wrong seaweed, opting for seasoned crunchy seaweed that doesn't hold the roll well due to holes and crumbles upon biting. It lacked the authenticity of a Japanese hand roll and felt cheaply made. Cutting corners… The beef udon resembled instant udon and the cream udon, while having good sauce, featured dry and hard noodles, indicating poor reheating timing. Overall, a disappointing experience."
"Only found this place in the last year or so. I had no idea what I was missing! Simple, affordable and well executed Udon with a variety of tasty appetizers and a small sushi menu. But what really makes this place special is the staff."
"The food was tasty, and the staff were kind. The half-sized tempura udon was perfect for me; I wasn't super hungry at the time and don't usually eat a lot anyway, so it filled me up without leaving me feeling stuffed. Came here while waiting for doors to open for a show at the Largo. I got there relatively early, just after 6pm, which turned out to be good because it seemed like they filled up with all of the theatre-goers who were evidently also waiting for doors open. I had a bit of a wait after I ordered, maybe around 10-15 minutes, max. One of the servers saw me looking around and proactively told me it was because they were making all of the udon orders together; I appreciated how attentive they were, to notice that I was wondering about my order. I didn't mind the wait too much anyway, because I needed to fill the time until 7pm."
"WE WILL BE BACK AGAIN- We did a walk-in at Kochi last night. We did not know what to expect, but it looked lively so we thought to try it. We all LOVED IT. The staff was so nice. The prices are very reasonable for the area. Most importantly the food was all delicious. We ordered for the tables: edamame, miso soup, shoshito peppers, marinated black cod, spicy tuna Cripsy rice, cucumber salad, spicy tuna hand roll, uni cream udon, veggie tempura, albacore special sashimi, and the Jalapeño yellowtail sashimi. We can not wait to go back again and focus on the hand-roll menu. Great spot!"
