Reviews of Prank Bar
"Place was empty on arrival. One person sitting on the patio. Door man wouldn’t let me sit in the patio with my bicycle. Like, what? This ain’t Beverly Hills. We were bar hopping today in downtown (Pez Catina, SONORITAS, seven grand, even the library bar!, etc.) and Pranks was the only place that wouldn’t let us have our bike on the patio. Here’s are some pics of us enjoying drinks, on patios, at other establishments. I’m sure the owner would’ve wanted our money, and to make a customer happy, given the patio was empty! If there is a policy in place, okay, but it was dead. My loss or yours?"
"Wonderful, friendly staff and yummy food make L.A.'s first walk up bar a fun place to go. Indoor and outdoor seating with a private area upstairs with it's own bar too. Go here before a show at Crypto down the street. You can park your car right across the street in a parking structure too. Management, bar staff and security are all amazing people!"
"Great food selection and adult beverage selection is pretty big. Pranks outdoor seating is the main appeal, in my opinion and it’s a very good spot for a date. The music is not too loud and it’s a great spot to just have a meal with a chill drink while people watching. A lot of foot traffic from Crypto Center/LA Live area. Definitely a good spot to stop by before an event to pregrame. I’ve had their drinks and their Moscow Mules are real good. ***Update*** Tried their brunch menu and had their Caesar Salad with chicken and a side of salmon. The chicken was tender and the salmon was seasoned/cooked perfectly. The sliders with fries is delicious along with the shrimp skewers."
"I guess the Prank was on us because the food was horrible. I’m sure my favorite thing with these 4 items I ordered was the dipping sauces for the calamari. It was on the way to the stadium so we wanted to grab a quick bite before the game. Unfortunately it was not worth the money at all. Fries were cut fresh but were not cooked well. Just sad."
"Prank! La’s like first walk up bar or something like that. So fun, had a great brunch date here. Seating was quick, I think we were early because the crowd came a few minutes later but it was already looking pretty busy. You order at the bar, it’s hectic, so bring patience! The bartenders are quick with orders though, very professional. We grabbed the mimosa bucket to prep for our meal. I definitely recommend maybe four people to a bucket unless your thirsty, no judgment, we’re adults. I was thirsty apparently, we finished our champagne w ease and the food paired so well. I had the steak omelette and my partner had the French toast. I recommend getting the steak medium for the omelette, which I think was my only mistake. My mistake not theirs so I won’t let that impact this rating. I had a great time. The server even noticed a wobbly table and immediately had it fixed for another customer seated nearby. Highly recommend for a daytime date or even meeting, I saw a mix of professionally dressed and casual attendees throughout the space. Great atmosphere and though it is on the street, it’s not too loud for a great conversation."
