Reviews
"Nice trail with mature forest setting. Moderate up and down. Well shady. Great for dog to explore freely in nature. Good place to see fungus."
"This is the most traveled of the four sections of the North Ridge trail and is therefore easy to follow and well maintained. It's approximately 2 mi to the Delaware Ave access from Endicott Lane trailhead or 4 miles round trip. There is less parking available at Delaware Ave. Since I hiked the other sections in late fall and winter this portion seems like a lush hardwood rainforest with so much green everywhere, although creek beds were dry. I would rate this section moderate due to quite a few rolling elevation changes and I believe three significant ascents."
"Nice trail to hike on a hot day as it's mostly in the woods. I started from the East End . The trail is up and down but the up is short distances. The trail is marked with a white blaze on trees...and fairly easy to follow."
"It was more of a challenge than I thought it would be. There's a lot of ups & downs, but it's a beautiful trail. It is in a residential neighborhood, so you can hear cars occasionally when you're closer to the road, as well as kids playing in their yards, but most of the time all you hear is the birds & squirrels. I didn't get to do the whole trail, but if you're in decent shape, you shouldn't have a problem."
"This trail follows a long (10 miles +/-), narrow (1/4-1 mile) corridor of mature forest in a city Greenway along the northern boundary of Oak Ridge. It's great for day hikes and short excursions. Frequently steep, most sections are moderately strenuous. Check a local topo map before choosing a section of trail. Easy access from several points along the adjacent residential area."
