Reviews
"IMPORTANT NOTE: This review is for Bryant Grove Trail (BGT), which is a 4-mile, unpaved , point-to-point trail. Other reviews state this trail is a paved 2-mile trail, which they are confusing with the Couchville Lake Trail, probably due to the shared parking lot at the trailheads for these two trails. BGT is four miles long, ending at a different recreation area. It is not a loop, so you'll need to hike the full eight miles if you want to see the whole trail unless you arrange transportation for both points. The trail is not paved, but it is well-maintained with long stretches of wide gravel leading to slightly more rugged trails deeper in. The trail follows the shoreline closely and has virtually no elevation change, offering a flat terrain for a leisurely hiking experience. The forests, cedar groves, and lakeshore provide nice scenery year-round, and there is plenty of wildlife - particularly birds - to enjoy as well. On one hike in January, a large, male bald eagle took flight only a few meters from the trail, and many hundreds of robins gathered in the woods during a migratory stop. Pretty cool experience. The park service does a great job of maintaining the trails as well as the trailhead and recreation area. Both ends of the trail have picnic tables, clean restrooms, and plenty of parking, which is a primary reason for this 5-star review. For hikers looking for more of a challenge, this might not be the best trail, but it's worth checking out for sure. Also, beyond control of park management, the trail can get quite flooded in many places during rainier weather (see video below). Definitely need waterproof footwear if you want to hike the whole trail with dry feet. Happy hiking and be kind to each other!"
"A nice paved walking trail along the lake shore. We went on a weekday morning, and there was quite a lot of foot traffic, so I imagine it gets quite busy on the weekends. If you're looking for seclusion, this probably isn't the place for you. But not a bad place to get 2 miles in :)"
"This Trailhead can take you four miles to the south and east. I was trail running, and found it for the most part to be a great trail. Certain sections you just have to watch for rocky areas and tree roots that would be trip hazards. Pretty flat and level. Overall a fun trail to get out and walk, hike, or trail run on!"
"This place is beautiful!!! I can't believe I didn't come sooner. The loop around the lake is about 2 miles I believe give or take. It's a great place to get together with your mom friends and go for a nice nature walk. I'm excited to go back and fish as well once I have a license. It is just gorgeous there!"
"Had a great walking path which is paved. Has a shift point of the pavement probably due to tree growth but easily adjusted. Has a bridge to go over as well. Nice views of lake which has many docks for fishing or views. Has signs of tree names and such to see."
