"Microwave didn't work and when I went down to the desk, the worker had took me to another hotel room on a different floor being worked on to try a microwave in there- which also didn't work. Very odd. The room was OK, but not really worth the price- seemed pretty worn. The free breakfast was great, though. Can definitely hear through all the walls, crying children all hours of the night."

"Rooms were nice but I left at 3am last night and drove home. The bed was so collapsed in the middle something hard was sticking through and killing my back. Couldn't sleep at all. No one at the front desk when I left. Oh well. Waste of money."

"We've only stayed in one hotel worse than this hotel. Carpets throughout the hotel look like they haven't been clean in years~black, caked on filth and spots. Our room smelled horrible, and we weren't alone, since other families had to move rooms due to the smell of the room (we assume the carpets). The drain in our tub was stopped up for 2 days, and the third night we were finally moved. No complaints about the staff, but Holiday Inn has definitely neglected this property and it was more of a Del Taco experience than a Del Mar experience. We would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone."

"The Ugly: Your complimentary breakfast comes with a free sauna. It’s over 80 degrees in the breakfast room. It’s muggy and hot!!! The BAD:We paid triple the price for a play and stay tournament. The room smelled like wet mildew when we walked in. The carpet in the room was dirty and smelly. The AC made noise all night. The hotel needs upgrades. The front desk ladies were not very nice. The Good: Perfect location to the beach, restaurants, the track, and the Surf Cup fields. The breakfast was always well stocked with plenty of choices for a continental breakfast. Overall, they need to revamp this place. I would not stay here again unless they do."
