"Not slide friendly and the Horse Flies and Mosquitos are everywhere! Camp host was a really nice guy."
"Very pretty camp ground. Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because there is only the one set of dumpsters near the trailer dumping area at the entrance to the site."
"Great place to glamp in the "wild". No mosquitoes in November! Great heated bathroom with showers! Primitive area gets you closer to nature and it's 10$ less than other campsites."
"This campground within Shelby Forest is probably the best place to camp near the metro Memphis area. (Its larger, smells better and is a slight bit further away from the river's mosquitos than T.O. Fuller.) The campground is a good hike from the visitor center and the rest of the park, cutting out any traffic other than fellow campers. The sites are your typical "back your car-camper-trailer" onto a paved pad. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, water spigot, standing charcoal grill and 240 & 120 power outlet. There's even a decent amount of space between sites. There are, however, no garbage cans. There are also 3 "primitive" sites which are just grass spots set back off the main circle a bit. These reserve by phone only sites have no access to power, pavement or water and are perfect for larger groups like scout troops or those who want to be a bit more remote. These are just a short distance from the smaller bathroom. The ground's only garbage cans are located either at the dumpster near the camping entrance by the grey water dump or at the bathrooms. The larger bathhouse at one end of the circle has stalls, showers, etc. The smaller bathroom, near the playground is connected to an enclosed 20x40 shelter. The reservatuons were easy. Can rsvp online or by phone with the rangers. The rangers were also really friendly. They made occasional drivebys throughout our time there. If I were to find any major grievance, it was the smaller pavilion bathrooms. The men's stall doesn't lock and the toilet ran for the entire weekend I was there. The real issue would be the maintenance closet that connects the men and women's bathrooms. The doors on both sides were swollen so that neither side could close and lock, leaving an open hallway directly between the 2 bathrooms. That made my wife nervous enough, that she would walk to the restrooms further away. Also, keep in mind that this site is right off the Mississippi river. In the warmer months, the mosquitos are plentiful!"
"This is an excellent campground. It has showers. My campsite had lots of room to pitch a tent. There are lots of mosquitos, though."
