"Unique, curated specialty goods and produce at premium (but fair) prices. Cute place to discover new treats or ingredients, or treat yourself or others to unique items. Went in for the first time today on a Saturday around noon, and the workers were all super friendly, helpful, and chill. Agree that there could be more vegan options, and that a lot of stuff do not have prices labeled. For reference, a specialty toothpaste was $10 (same price as David's toothpaste for those who know), and an 11 oz snack of flavored pretzels was $4, so the prices were not crazy marked-up like I had assumed for a place in this niche and location! Will come back when I'm in the area :)"
"Love the convenience of this grocer, and they carry nice items. Yes it is a little pricey, but I like having the option in a pinch due to how close I live to this store. Now the one thing I have a problem with- the staff. Every single visit, I leave this store annoyed that the employees are not only just unattentive, but very condescending and outright unfriendly. I do not understand people who seek jobs in customer service and then behave like that. If I am going to swallow these prices, I'd appreciate staff with even an ounce more warmth. This review is coming from an introvert, that's how cold the employees are. Won't stop me from coming back of course, but it would certainly up the game of this cute little grocer."
"Would be nice if they had more vegan-friendly products, considering they are the only grocery store within reasonable walking distance for anyone who lives by the beach in Venice - and there are more vegans here per capita than the average neighborhood. I can accept the high prices, nice stuff for sure. Lack of good vegan stuff is just surprising."
"If you need to stock up on pantry items or just want a good coffee and cookie watching Venice pass you by, then head to Gjusta Grocer. Fresh food, tinned goods wonderful baked goods with a great selection of wine. Make sure you try the focaccia and a lemon honey ginger shot."
"My friend and I were looking for a quick lunch to have on Venice and this hit the spot. We got an Italian sandwich ($20), which was hearty with great ingredients, a Greek salad ($18), light and tasty, and a citrus soda ($3.5). I kinda justify the cost in that I’m not paying tax and tip for the meal. It’s a nice place to browse through and explore the unique items they have to offer."
