Reviews of Gelson's Century City
"Self check out should be an easy situation. However thats not the case when you have a rude attendant working there moving items out of the way while attempting to “self-checkout” . I was there today at 2:20 and the young lady with the mask and terrible eye-shadow makeup comes over rudely to rescan an item that wasn’t ticketed correctly! Customer service is seriously going out the window these days! The next time this happens I will not play nice."
"I was at Gelson's yesterday and in the front entrance, I saw these chips on sale for 2 bags/$7. It had the same sale tag in the chip aisle across the store. When we got rung up, it didn't provide us the sale price. I went back to check, took this photo for proof, and showed the cashier. She told me to go to customer service and ask for a price adjustment. I told them since the price tag shows the sale price, I'd like to purchase the two bags for the sale price. Their response to me was "This isn't on sale anymore now. If you want to buy a second bag, you'll have to pay full price." TERRIBLE customer service! Own up to your mistake because I felt deceived as a patron. This isn't my responsibility to check what is and isn't accurate; I see an advertised price displayed and expect it to be that price. The kicker really was then that the customer service guy said it wasn't on sale only AFTER we made the call out. Pretty rude in my opinion."
"At the Deli, one employee asked me if l had a question. When l said that l was waiting to order a sandwich, he told me to ask "one of the other workers" as he was "going to lunch now" I told the woman who helped me that I'd like a Prime Rib sandwich. Her response was "what kind of bread?" I answered "whatever kind it's made with thanks". She visibly grumbled, so I pointed to the wall menu and read "Baguette" from the description. She handed me the ticket with my sandwich and side salad stickers and told me to go pay and bring her the receipt. She made my sandwich and at home I realized that she'd forgot to include the carmelized onions. When all completed, I asked for both items in a bag and she said to get it from a check stand. The deli has plastic bags right on it's counter. I said that would work perfectly and asked for one of those. This is the 2nd similarly experienced time I've bought takeout from your deli and frankly the quality of the food doesn't compensate for the lackluster customer service. Both times I've encountered surely and lazy acting staff."
"As always, you have the products I am looking for, and your produce is top notch. Most of your staff has been there since I've been out here (now about 15 years) and I always enjoy talking to them--they are all professionals, in the very best sense of the word. They know their products, they know the store and they work hard to get to know their customers. It's a wonderful (and rare) feeling to walk into a store nowadays and feel welcomed and wanted as a regular customer!"
"I have never been to a Gelson’s before and I was really excited to try it for my first time. As I was taking a picture and a video of my food selection, I got in trouble. I guess you cannot take pictures or videos. This was not indicated anywhere on the store. I actually felt really uncomfortable and I left after this. That was my first and last time there! I went from being so happy, to immediately feeling embarrassed. I added the picture that I took."
