"Never been a fan of museum. However, if you have little boys or girls they would be mesmerized by the plane and space universe. There are small activities inside too. If you get lucky there was a retired knowledgeable man and we learnt so much from him. It was truly interesting. A few hours tour is enough. The park around is nice to walk by."
"This was our second stop in touring all Balboa Park had to offer and was one of our 3 favorites from the trip. It started out great with an SR71 chassis on display outside the building. Inside the museum is separated into exploration (including space), old civilian (Spirit of Saint Louis), old military and new military with some nicely setup diorama's. My travel companion is into planes so this was a great museum for us to visit and we would definitely do it again. I don't think it quite stacks up to the Air Museum in Seattle in terms of number of planes, but the layout, diorama's and additional things like pictures, writeups, and so on may have been better. We bought the all museum access pass which made this a $4-5 visit. Well worth it."
"Excellent museum, especially if you are an aviation/space nerd. Lots of stuff for kids to enjoy, especially the mock fighter jet cockpits and simulation. It's not a huge place. It will take a couple of hours if you take time to read and enjoy each exhibit."
"This was easily my favorite museum in San Diego. Admission is $25 for an adult. There is a lot to see here. Very educational and informative. You can plan to spend at least a couple hours here if you look and read or like an hour or less if you just walk without reading. Employees were pleasant and helpful if you ever had any questions. Parking is free if you’re driving."
"Lots of history and airplane models in this museum as well as computer interaction model creation for kids to drive the airplane that they modeled. Review the histories for different period of time about the airplane evolvement. Great and education place for kids to visit. However, I recommend the air space museum in Washington DC better. Here it’s smaller and more dated."
