"The SD Symphony with Payare conducting Mozart was amazing. The Conrad is a beautiful venue. The only problem was that it was too hot! Given the time of the year, the attendees were dressed warmly and many could be seen fanning themselves with the program. Probably a one time issue."
"Beautiful venue. Really superb acoustics. Just a great place for a concert. Only issue, like with most of LaJolla, is where do you park? Takes forever to find a place"
"Fun show but the Jai venue made the experience below average. We were packed into the venue like sardines. They wanted it to feel like a jazz club but there was no elbow room. They fit 4 cafeteria chairs around an end table and put the next one 6 inches from the back of your chair. A man was practically sitting in my lap. There is barely room for drinks at your table much less the food. The chairs were uncomfortable to sit in for any concert length. You can clearly see it’s new but it also looks like a high school cafeteria. If you go, it seemed like the high top tables might have more room."
"This a great small venue (seats about 450 people). The lighting and acoustics are state-of-the-art. I saw a Mariachi performance here that was loud and energetic - it included a solo singer without a microphone that could be heard clearly throughout The Conrad. There is a very nice plaza space that is part of this site. A parking garage is one block away that is very convenient and there is valet parking . . . of course there is . . . this is La Jolla."
"This is the nicest performing arts center in San Diego. It looks newly constructed. Gates are locked until the box office opens. There is a small selection of food and drinks at concessions. The auditorium has good acoustics. A cell phone ringing will sound throughout the room, even all the way up to me in the back of the balcony."
