"Lovely little museum for all ages. Several small galleries on the lower floor. The upper floor has the main "event" in my opinion. There's an interactive map of southern California. Heavy education on crystals and minerals. Rockhounds will appreciate this section with various types of specimens from all over the world but mainly from California and the US. Several interactive areas for kids who can draw, or read/write, or use a large microscope with assistance. Many wildlife displays to include birds, reptiles, and animals from the local mountain populations. Mountain lions, bears, racoons, etc. Outdoor picnic area has sand and a hand washing station. There is a permanent train display as well."
"Clean museum. Good size, not as big as LA's Natural History Museum, but this can fill a couple hours and get the kids out walking. They have some cute little nature paths around the building too."
"Pretty nice museum to check out in San Bernardino. Lots to see and learn about. They also have an area where you can touch some of the displays and a gentlemen was there with different fossils, rocks etc. To let you hold them and explain more on them. Loved the classic cars and looked like they were going to add another section with more cars soon. I'd most definitely check this place out if you are in the area"
"My Husband and I took our 2 1/2 year old Grandson to the museum to see how he liked it. We went on a weekday and it was pretty empty. He got in a lot of running around. I think he was too young to really understand the items on display, but he did look at some with interest. He liked the area downstairs where he could pick limes off a painted tree and put them in a crate that then went on a conveyer belt. He also liked the area where there was a Wooly Mammoth and baby. He loved seeing all animals on display. He enjoyed looking at the birds and their nests. He loved pushing the buttons that went for a particular bird to hear the sound it makes. I was disappointd to see the outdoor building where they used to have animals, was closed that day or permanely. I had taken my daughter there many times, she even volunteered there when she was 14 years old. It was popular with kids because you could touch some of the animals, but also learned about them. I think that was the most popular place for all ages kids, they all enjoyed seeing the animals. If it's permanently closed, it really needs to come back again."
"It was a great experience. I don't usually go to museums, but I was impressed. It incorporated some african-american and hispanic (which was cool), california, cars, animals, insects, minerals, and fossil/dinosaur history. The staff were awesome, ample free parking space and great bathrooms. I would go back to bring my kids next time."
