Kimpton Shorebreak Huntington Beach Resort

"The location of this hotel is perfect, right on the beach and next to shopping and restaurants. The hotel has a great decor and vibe in the main lobby. There are 3 fire pits in the courtyard where you can roast s'mores they provide you with. There is corn hole and pin pong games. The rooms do not have a coffee maker, but they have a nice set up for free coffee and hot cocoa in the lobby. They have fruit flavored water in the lobby as well. The room was clean and the bathroom was very large. The beds were comfortable. The shower was nice and steamy and they had a large bathtub. I really enjoyed the record player in the room, which you can pick vinyls from the lobby to bring up to your room. We picked a room that did not overlook the ocean as the hotel is right on the pacific coast highway. Even with a room facing the back, you could still hear the highway pretty loudly, so the hotel provided a white noise maker for sleep which was really handy! We slept well! The room had a tiny balcony but there were no chairs to sit in."

"The location is perfect and the amenities are great but all the staff acts like they’re better than you. No one was friendly and we felt like every time we needed help, we were being a bother. We had to ask for help with a barking dog in the room next to us and the girl upfront was not helpful about it and seemed annoyed we were even bothering her. No apology, nothing. For as nice as this place is and especially for the price I wish they were friendly. I wouldn’t stay here again and having spent almost 1k here, that’s disappointing."

"We have found no service at all with the front desk. This hotel has had about four different owners since it opened. Originally, it was a much more upscale hotel but now it is a typical , lower class hotel. The bartender in their restaurant was very nice but it was so cold at the bar (like a wind tunnel), that we didn't stay. They did have a sweet young guy playing guitar but there were only four people at 7:30pm in the entire place . They use to have a clever ski lodge type bar on the patio for Christmas time but that is gone ."

"This is my families and I go to hotel when we are in the area. We love the activities and all the beach supplies they have available for use. Great views if you get a room facing the beach! Hotel restaurant has great drinks and good food. Breakfast at the restaurant is amazing! They have happy hours for guest and also free s’mores kits! Cons: No hot tub or Pool Too many guests with dogs"

"Came here with my boyfriend for 2 nights on business. Amazing experience. Loved the $60 breakfast voucher. Was a great benefit. Hunter at the front desk was amazing. Great staff all around. Food was very good. Rooms very nice and sound proof even on main level! great shower and bathroom space , loved the place overall. Locations was awesome. Right near all the fun bars . Record player and Bluetooth in the room were great. Will definitely be back soon!! Highly recommend for a trip to Huntington Beach."
