"My wife and I contracted with Standing Stone pools to build a pool at our new residence over 550 days ago. To date 10/23/2022 we have had 45% of the work completed. From the initial down payment to paying the 90% required of final amount, it was 62 days and even though it sounds too much, it's common practice with pool installers. Reason we were told had to pay a bigger portion of the contract, we were told the supplier would not drop off the materials needed if we didn't pay the third installment, so we did. After a month of not seeing the materials, my wife texted Sherman Kellow owner of Standing Stone pools regarding the materials and he replied don't worry, he has the materials, (we have the many texts stating this) to date we've yet to see any materials. He had taken the money to buy the equipment but never did, for our pool. We've heard every excuse you can imagine. Once we felt that dreaded sinking feeling that we had fallen victim to a bad business deal, we did extensive research and found out that we were not the only ones that this has happened too, multiple lawsuits against Standing Stone pools. We discovered the exact same thing that we experienced by 5 that we found recently, for not finishing the pools and taking the clients money. Contracted price was 140k and we paid 128k to date and received approximately 50k in work. We are moving on with another pool contractor to complete this mess, after waiting the 560 days of looking at only a hole in the ground. Yes, we did our due diligence with this one.
