Reviews
"Friendly, knowledgeable staff who make even the dives with poor visibility worthwhile! You feel part of their dive tribe from the beginning. Great instructors, knowledgeable about gear, and experienced dive guides. Favorite dive outfitter in town. Highly recommend"
"Best Dive Service Facility around! Been here for almost 25 years and still provide quality and excellent service to all my gear. I highly recommend and appreciate Jared's insight and expertise. I've tried other shops in the past but this one has the BEST PRICES and CUSTOMER SERVICE!"
"This place gave me excellent service and helped me figure out exactly what I needed while learning a few new things along the way. Plus I really appreciated the awesome staff (you're the best Billy). All the shops send there gear here to be serviced, and I can definitely see why. 10/10 would do again."
"Regulators are primary life support equipment. There are only 3 people I'd allow to work on my gear, Frank at Any Water Sports, Jared & his crew at Monterey Bay Diving, and Me. (and I don't entirely trust that that 3rd guy...) I'm writing to counter the obviously bogus review by "Heather Kramp". (Ask Jared, for his side of that story, if you want a chuckle... For starters it wasn't written even by her! :-) Anyway, here is my experience with regulator service. I had 4 first stages and 5 second stages that I wanted to get serviced over the Christmas break. They were configured as a recreational kit, 2 tri-mix regs and an 'O2 clean' decompression stage regulator. I wanted to get them back in a few days and I wanted to dive every day while they did them! Now, attitude is important. If I'd gone in demanding that kind of service, they would have (quite rightly) told me to 'pound sand' or at least charged me a 'rush service' fee. But since I asked nicely and was flexible in my schedule we worked it out. I dove one kit while they serviced the other and then swapped gear. All my 'octos' came back nicely detuned, so they wouldn't free flow, even though I forgot to ask for that, while the primaries were tuned to be very easy breathing. Everything smelled faintly of simple green because all the parts, even the mouthpieces, got an ultrasonic cleaning. (and yes, everything worked perfectly the first time, they also answered all my questions and showed me the equipment they use to break in and properly tune the regs after the service was done.) Incidentally, this shop is in an industrial neighborhood and looks like a machine shop. You walk in through a rolled up garage door. It's not the best place to buy new gloves or a mask, but for regulator service, hydro-static testing, or underwater salvage or maintenance work they are the best around. Chances are good, if you bring work like that to a nearby 'retail' dive shop that it will actually get done here. It's what they do, and they are very good at it."
"I've had my gear serviced here 3 times. The first time was fine. The second time they lost my mouth piece on a messy bench in a pile of other mouth pieces. The third time they left every hose on my regulator unscrewed and two turns from falling off. That is unacceptable and so dangerous. Fortunately checked my gear before I dove and found all the hoses falling off. It was pretty unnerving to spend the next hour meticulously going through my regulator and BC to find what else they messed up. I can't believe I paid $125 for them to mess my gear up. I have no idea if they even replaced or checked anything. I will never go back here or trust my gear with them again."
