"Not for your DIY'er. Came here to buy Simpson ties. They would not let me return the ties because they were missing the screws. I explained that I bought them without screws. They said they only sell it with screws. I walked with Rob Fewer to show him where I got it, and lo and behold they are selling the ties without the screws. They said it doesn't matter, they can sell without the screws but I cannot return them without screws. Terrible customer service. Missing logic."
"It seems Golden State can make customers happy when everything goes well. Their salesman mis-ordered one of my 16 windows in October. There is no argument that it was a GS mistake. After several phone calls over several weeks (during which I was offered $200 to buy a replacement $400 window and have it installed) I finally found someone who said they'd "take care of it". It is now the end of July and after a dozen contacts with four different people (not counting warehouse and installers) and three install appointments, I still don't have the replacement window. I just learned it hasn't even been ordered correctly from the factory. If something goes astray, Golden State becomes the Keystone Cops. After countless hours of dealing with this, I wish I'd bought from an organized, professional window supplier, like Bennett Glass."
"This place has everything and could easily be intimidating for homeowners who are doing small improvement projects BUT the people are so kind and eager to help everyone who walks in the doors no matter how small their project may be. I went in to look at deck materials for a small deck in our backyard and they had a wide selection of decking material samples. The ordering and delivery process was seamless. I highly recommend checking out this place. Way better than the big home improvement stores!"
