Fritto Misto 5660 Selmaraine Drive, Culver City, CA 90230

"This is a ghost kitchen location in Culver City for the long established Fritto Misto in Santa Monica. It's been so long since I have eaten there as I live in Culver City and dont want to drive to SM. This place has a huge menu of Italian foods ( no pizza). It also has huge portions so dont be scared by a 25-30 dollar pasta. 3 people could share these and certainly 2 hungry people no problem. No way one person could the entire portion unless you are a BIG eater. So keep that in mind when ordering and be prepared for some leftovers. To start they give you free bread. This was a really high quality freshly baked crusty Italian loaf. I'm impressed. Quality of all the ingredients was very fresh. All the pastas we got were properly cooked and not overcooked. Bolognese Sauce is pretty unique with heavy nutmeg and some cream in it. Not sure if it was beef or sausage. So not your traditional Italian bolognese but still good. Pretty flavorful and we added mushrooms which were nicely sauteed. Pasta Pancetta was excellent in a light cream sauce. Added grilled chicken and a good portion of tender chicken with some grill flavor. Excellent dish. Built my own rigatoni pasta . Small size rigatoni which I like. Eggplant was fresh and cooked lightly so tender but not mushy with nice char marks . Nice add of fresh spinach as well and the marinara is on the lighter side but it works well. Added shrimp and they were perfectly plump and tender and a fair amount of them for the extra 8 bucks. Seems we also got a free desert of what was a delicious apple cake. Freshly baked and Reallyyy good! So glad we found this place. I went and picked it up . Plenty of free street parking since it's in an industrial strip area so on a weekend at least no problem. A bit odd and high tech on the inside to get your food. scan in. they text you when ready if it's not ready when you get there. then scan in again and it tells you what door your bag is behind. Luckily they had a person at the counter to help me. But now I know how it works so will be better the next time. So there must be almost 2 dozen restaurants you never see a whiff of in this building, but they all are available this way. Most of the folks picking up were delivery drivers but if you live nearby it's easy to do. I'm gonna be a regular customer now."
