"I've taken voice with various teachers off and on over the years, but I will have to say that I have progressed further in the past two years with Alex than in all my other years combined. When I started at Knoxville Voice Lessons, I told myself I was an "okay" singer who lacked confidence. I can't say that anymore. I could still use some work on the confidence, but Alex has taught me that not only can I sing, I can sing well. Alex is not a "let me teach you this song" teacher , nor is she a "all my students work out of this book" teacher; instead she caters her lessons toward allowing the student to sing not only well, but correctly. She takes notes that are available to the student, she helps the students find repertoire that they WANT to sing. Unique to Knoxville Voice Lessons (I'm guessing) are her monthly Studio Gatherings. Like a master's class, it gives each of us the opportunity to perform in a less-stressful environment, while we are coached and receive positive feedback.
