"My partner went through this program an I have been here supporting him through this process and I unfortunately would NOT recommend. I have helped him pay for this program an I feel like we have gotten scammed. I attended the graduation and it was sorrowful for the money that was paid it should have been in person!!! And put together way better very under Whelming. Then on zoom all the graduates could not be seen on screen which was very disrespectful. This program needs a lot of revisions."
"I am currently enrolled in the software development cohort and I really think I have made a huge jump in knowledge and ability in regards to software development in the last couple months. I am still a little over a month from my graduation, but I already decided to enter into the job portal to see what is out there for new developers. The staff has been very helpful. My teacher is very knowledgeable and works as a developer currently. He has provided us with an inside point of view on learning programing languages and what to prepare for as we move into the tech industry. Our TA is a Pivot software development grad and is also very knowledgable about programing. The upper staff has been supportive along the way also. I have received support building my resume and received feedback on the steps I need to take to prepare for my career transition. Note, I will say that being involved in this bootcamp IS NOT EASY. You will be challenged. You will be tested mentally just due to the amount of new information and the time you have to dedicate to it. You WILL NOT know everything all the time, and you WILL have to supplement your studies with personal study when you don't understand something. There is also Saturday classes specifically for that purpose, but still, there is A LOT to learn. Be prepared to dedicate at least 3 hours a day / 4 days a week for the class. I am very happy with my colleges in my class too. It is helpful when the people you learn with are also invested and eager to learn. Long review, but hey, it has been a long ride so far. It is not easy, but it has been rewarding. I recommend anybody who is trying to pivot into software development to join and gain the knowledge you need."
"MY LOAN MONEY WAS TAKEN BUT NEVER RETURNED AND IT HAS BEEN OVER TWO MONTHS OF ME GETTING THE RUN AROUND! I am happy that others had a great experience but am beyond appalled and disappointed at my own experience. Single Mom here who just wanted to succeed in the program to provide a better life for myself and my child. Took out a loan thru Climb Credit in March to attend. After some back and forth and finding reliable and consistent child care to allow me to attend, I decided on the August 24th cohort. However, mid August, I was notified that the cohort was being delayed until Sept 19. At this time, I reached out to Pivot to ensure that I was still in good standing for the Sept 19 cohort. It was then communicated to me that my loan was returned and that I would need to reapply for the loan. Unsure of why this was never communicated to me yet I was still receiving bills for the loan. I was told that the loan funds were returned and to contact Climb Credit who services the loan. After some calls to Climb Credit, I learned that my loan return was initiated by Pivot on JUNE 30 but the funds were never returned or received back by from Pivot. It was been 5 months since Pivot claims to have returned the funds or initiated the process. 2 months since I have been notified that my loan funds were returned. I reached out to Jamila, Yasanta and Josh with no resolve. I am repeatedly told that there are looking into the issue. Yet no ETA on when the funds will be returned. Not clear what is left to look into or investigate. Never attended a class or orientation because FUNDS were returned. And now still paying on a loan because funds were never returned. AND AFTER THE 10K IS RETURNED, I have to then fight work AGAIN to obtain a refund for the payments that I have made. Appalled, shocked and disappointed at the lack of honesty, transparency, and the lack of action with is issue by this school especially to a single mom."
"If you’re looking into data analytics, find it somewhere else. I went through the data analytics class and finished in January. Since finishing, it’s like I never even went through the program. My emails and messages get ignored when I try to contact certain Pivot administration about job inquiries and I’m right where I was before I signed up. Companies want experience in tableau and I NEVER got that because they didn’t get the licenses for us to learn it. The final project was also done FOR the entire class because we were not given the tools to actually complete a full presentation of data analysis on our own. I’ve learned more on my own than I did during the program. I’m only speaking from my experience and I’m hoping that this is taken into account as they continue to build their curriculum."
"Pivot Tech Staff from beginning to end, from the owners, recruiters, advisory, TAs, and professors are absolutely phenomenal, dedicated, and committed to their aim in making sure that Tech Education is not only accessible, but also taught effectively. I recently graduated from their Cyber Security Cohort and it has only impressed upon me that more people from all walks of life can add so much to the work force in the Cyber Security sector and also all avenues of technology. If you are thinking of getting into tech, this is the place to be. Even though the programs do not last forever, what you learn and the networking the staff continues to do for all students are absolutely long lasting."
