"I was told by Senior Team Member Earl, after booking, driving 40 minutes, finding parking, arriving early and asking for a basic fade (attached to this complaint) that he does not cut "black hair." I feel like I shouldn't have to explain this in 2024 and in West Hollywood of all places, but just because someone has Rihanna shaded skin doesn't mean that their hair is any different than someone with white skin. I even confirmed with a hairstylist after this traumatic incident that she has cut hair like mine on many different races of people. So to be told, in essence, Earl would not cut my hair because the color of my skin was very hard to hear. I also think if someone is a Senior Team Member then they must have worked at that company for many years, so Earl has basically refused to cut anyone's hair who is not white for as long as he's worked here. Luckily Kioni just so happened to be available, otherwise I would have had to completely reschedule. I should have left immediately, but didn't want to make it a bigger deal than necessary; which I now regret because I've been dealing with the negative feelings of this incident since leaving. Thanks again to Kioni for taking me last minute, being so kind and ironically for a great haircut."
