He once told me that every haircut he gives, he imagines his client is going to be on national TV the next day, and he feels a responsibility to make the client look as good as possible. Another thing about Eye—and something that’s often overlooked/underrated about barbers—is he knows how to read the room. He’ll adjust the experience based on the client’s temperament/mood, and that’s a skill most barbers don’t have.
