I love that the space is a collective of different stylists because they do booth rentals, you get to see a lot of different hair styles and the people are all really friendly. It feels like home every time I go. I also get my hair products here, I like supporting the business and the prices are reasonable."

"I’m a new mom and visited Salon Santo Tomas because I’d heard great things about Carmel. I was there to have my first postpartum haircut. She gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I was nervous because I was going for such a big hair chop. Ended up chopping 14 inches! I thought I’d be way more dramatic about it, but Carmel made me feel so relaxed and excited, rather than crying, I actually felt really cool! Lol! I’ve had tons of great comments on my hair, and at least 3 perfect strangers (clerk, cashier, and receptionist) have mentioned to me how much they like my hair!!! Before this cut, no one ever used to even notice me or my hair."

"This salon is incredible! Always the most personable professional staff that makes everyone feel so comfortable. The stylists are amazing. Personally I go to Michelle but I would recommend anyone there. I have TONS of thick dark hair and I've been blonde, brunette, black...I've had highlights, layers, curled, flattened....plus they offer facials, massages, eyebrow waxing and I've done all of those services. I've pretty much done it all here and I've never been disappointed. Highly recommend this salon."

"I can't remember the last time I got a haircut but it was due. I just moved to SD about a month ago so I picked this place based on Yelp reviews and it was super close to where I lived. My hair was super long and it just had to go. Megan Schmidt was my hairstylist and she did a great job. I showed her some pictures of how I wanted my hair and she made sure it complimented my face shape. She offered me tea, was super friendly, and made me feel comfortable. Since my hair was super long I was expecting to pay about $60+ but it came out to be $55. Not sure if she gave me a discount but I thought it was pretty reasonable. Would I came back? Yea, most likely! I was surprised that this place was located in Old Town. Didn't think a salon would be here. The place was clean and had a great atmosphere. Making appointments are easy. I did it online. Parking lot is in the back. You can get a free parking pass at the salon so make you sure ask for it!"
