"A special shout out to Luis! He restored a very special pair of boots I purchased 30 yrs ago with my very first paycheck. Haven’t word them in, 15 yrs… They have been brought back to life, they look and feel fantastic! Wonderful workmanship and skill. Money well spent. Thank you!"
"My nicest pair of dress shoes were stained where I dripped hand sanitizer gel on them. Actually it was worse than that… the discolored areas were starkly lighter and would not take up polish. Luis got them to look pretty good on his first try, and told me the next step would be to remove the polish completely and then re-stain them. He showed me examples of the resultant color, which would be a bit darker than the original, and less of a two tone appearance, but still quite nice, so I gave him the go ahead. The shoes are now vastly improved- they turned out a little bit better than he predicted, and it feels like I got a brand new pair of shoes. He did great work on a tough job. Highly recommend."
"Fast turn around, great customer service, luggage repair was perfect."
"I brought in a vintage purse that had a strap torn. He said he could fix it and had opened it to sewed it back on. I paid $30 up front before seeing what the job would be like. No deposits allowed. He was friendly during the visit and is a one man show. The repair was done in a timely manner.. but, then I use the bag for one day and notice it's tearing again. I go back to him and now he says that he can't fix it and that it's tearing because the leather is old. He had me compare my soft leather to some other harder leather he had in store. He said, "see your leather is old" He told me to just try whatever leather he had in there. I'm bummed since it's the same type of tear that the bag originally had post fix! And now he's telling me it has to be fully replaced. I would've appreciated him letting me know the latter the first time and now the same issue occurs, and I have to pay to fix it again or look into straps similar online somehow. He didn't offer to try to fix with a better method (i personally think he could've cut the leather strap closer to where it's less worn before sewing it back). Ultimately, he didn't tell me that the leather was too old to repair the first time or consulted in methods of repair with me and just took my money. I feel jipped."
"He might do a good job. Who knows? He demanded that I pay the full $60 up front. When I reacted with surprise and said I’d gladly pay a deposit he told me he didn’t want to fix my shoes. I’m still a little stunned. Very odd customer service."
