Reviews of Scher Tire Inc
"Horrible workmanship ! I found tire choice formally Certified Tire when I moved to Corona two years ago. My wife’s car- a 2913 Nissan- needed basic engine maintenance, tires, shocks, brakes and a few other minor repairs totaling about $3500. As a former mechanic, I understood the time it took to do all this it, i was OK with the total but I was extremely detailed oriented and needed this to be this done correctly. After completion the maintenance repairs, everything seemed to be OK. But after the first day my wife’s car experienced major engine power loss on the freeway. She managed to get the car back to certified Tire.Turns out the mechanic forgot to tighten the intake boot to the turbo charger. About eight months later the cars AC was failing, so we took it back to Certified Tire to see if they could fix the problem. At that time I Told them , that if you can’t fix the AC, I’ll take it to a certified AC mechanic. They assured me that they could fix it. After about $1300 and six return visits to fix the problem and frustration not getting the body panel straight, they had the car a total of 17 days. My wife’s car turned into a project and the body panel still popped loose. Not trusting the car any further with the body panels still popping loose, I decided to sell the car last month because I no longer could trust the bad workmanship for the safety of my wife. I have to say, Doug was extremely service oriented and professional, he continued dialogue with me to maintain a good customer relationship while I can’t say that for the rest of the desk service personnel. In short I would not recommend Tire choice formally Certified Tire to anyone that has any mechanical needs while there tire, brake and shock replacement are okay. Sent from Steven King’s iPhone"
"Took my wife's car for an oil change and tire rotation. The following time my wife drove the car we noticed a clanking noise. So I took it to a trusted mechanic. Here's what I found: First off, they over-charged claiming it needed the more expensive synthetic oil (it didn't). Secondly, they claimed I needed a new battery (I didn't). And lastly, THE MORON WHO WORKED ON THE CAR LEFT THE TIRES LOOSE. Luckily my wife didn't get in a wreck because of the negligence or incompetence. And lastly, when I informed the individuals of this garbage-of-an-establishment, they didn't even offer to give me my money back. Instead they got defensive and tried to dispute my VERIFIABLE claims. Just look at the reviews. Save your money and stay away."
"Bought a set of tires from Scher Tire/Goodyear for my Wife's car last year and bought the exact same set of tires this year at Walmart and paid $200 less through Walmart and it includes road hazard if it can't be repaired they replace it for free. When we had the tires replaced they said we needed new struts and an alignment, went to Les Schwab in Norco and got both repairs/services done for $120 less. Just saying check your prices/other options people! Quite a bit of money to be saved instead of going to Scher/Goodyear!!!"
"I went there today (9.29.14) to get a tire fixed. The mechanics were professional, friendly, and honest - didn't try to convince me to buy new tires - simply patched my tire up and I was good to go. I'll be going back for any future service needs. Ask for either of the two Mikes or Julio - all great guys. Thanks!"
"Our tire had a leak due to a nail on the rear right tire. My wife and I came to this tire center this morning at 9:27 am (time printed on the service paper) and were told to pay $39.99 for a patch fix from inside and it would take about 45 minutes. We asked if it could be done sooner since we were going to take our parents out. Then as we waited outside for only about 5 minutes, our car was driven from back of the garage and pulled in front office. We thought something wrong that they couldn't work on the car or something unexpected. So we went into the office found no one there. So we waited for about 10 minutes and I finally walked to the headman in the garage asking what was the deal of our car, his answer was fixed. I was surprised since we were outside the garage and never saw them take the tire off. The headman said he would talk to the manager for sure, 5 minutes later he came back said confirmed fix. I was still wary so I approached the manager in the back office and he assured me it's done . So I went outside examining the tire and realized that they just used a rubber plug from outside, never taking the tire off as they promised. So I went back talking to the manager again raising my concern, he again assured me that they did take the tire off and to complete the whole job from peeling the tire off, patching the leak all the way to re-balancing the tire and putting it back on only took about 5 minutes. He even took a tire patch to show me how it was done, explaining the rubber plug I saw on the tire was part of the patch they pushed through from inside of the tire.So I believed him and drove away. On the way back home the tire pressure sensor came on again so we thought we shouldn't doubt their honesty and we should trust their professionals know how to let them fix the problem. However, we felt being stupid to believe even right in front of our eyes that they never even took the tire off that they could have patched the tire from inside and put it back on in 5 minutes . So we stopped by a mechanic to ask for 2nd opinion and he told us whoever worked on the tire just plugged it from outside in a hurry. We felt completely cheated by this service center. I called them and they put me on hold for over 10 minutes and after I redialed insisting to talk to the manager who immediately saying it was a mistake. I felt he was the one lied to us from the beginning and we even saw he walked to the mechanics to talk to them while we were waiting outside the garage. He offered money back. I don't think I should take it, they did work although not as promised. More importantly I feel compelling to let others know who they are dealing with and what this center management can do to you when you place trust in them. I DO NOT recommend this service center to anyone at all. Take your business somewhere else to be safe."
