Reviews of Express Shoe Repair
"The guy who helped me was very nice and fixed my purse in literally 2 minutes!! And only charged me $10 I'll definitely be back in the future."
"Excellent service and I would absolutely recommend Express Shoe Repair! I had a positive and memorable experience and am most grateful to have connected with this place where the job got done on the spot!"
"Carlos has been repairing my shoes since the mid 90's! He's the only one I let work on my Gucci, Chanel & MiuMiu shoes. I hope he never retires, he's the BEST!"
"Quality of Carlos' work has been consistenty good, but I'm never going back to him. I've had him resole my cowboy boots 3 times and put lugged rubber on the bottom so that they last longer as my daily wears. This last time, he charged me $150 or $160, to which I was happy to oblige, because the boots being repaired were almost $300, but I think he was literally just swindling me. I also had him quote me on what it would cost to put rubber protectors over the leather soles on another pair of cowboy boots, and he tried to pressure me into having that service done the same day, even though I told him I don't have a lot of money. I realized he's been ripping me off this whole time when I went and got a quote from another reputable place in Healdsburg called Ramos Shoe Repair. Carlos quoted me twice the price for the same service as the other place did. It's too bad as well, because I was loyal and coming back to him for everything boot related that I can't do myself. But after experiencing his deceptive business practices, he has officially permanently lost a good customer."
"If I could give Carlos 0 stars, I would! I took my heels in to replace the top piece since they had broken off. He commented how new they looked, and I told him I had only worn them a few times but had stepped in between cobblestones and broken the top pieces off the heels. He insisted that he also "reinforce" the outsole for support even though I thought they were fine. I paid $45 for my heels and another $35 for my MIL's low-cut boots to be cleaned up and the top piece replaced. I got charged more for strappy heels than leather boots which I told him didn't make sense but he claimed my shoes were more work. Come to find out that he doesn't charge everyone at drop-off. Well I dropped them off on 6/8/22 and picked them up on 6/11/22 for a wedding I was attending that evening. I didn't even put them on until I was in the car heading to the wedding then walked from the parking lot to the outdoor grassy area, where I sat for less than 30 minutes, then walked to the restroom. This was all within an hour, and I could feel my shoes flopping as I walked down the hall. Both of them separated from the outsole to the heel breast. I luckily had a pair of flip-flops in the car, which my husband had to run and grab since my shoes fell apart. It was an enormous waste of money, and my shoes were ruined. They were completely intact before Carlos took them apart, and I couldn't even take them back for him to fix them because I didn't trust him, and I was leaving town the following Monday morning. So now I have a pair of heels in 4 pieces that I cannot wear and have to find someone else that can properly repair them. I would never recommend him to anyone!"
