"Avoid this dental! It's a scam! Check their 109 1-star reviews on Yelp if you do not believe me. I deeply regret for not checking this prior my visit to EDC. Here is my story: I brought my daughter for cleaning on Feb 1, 2023, but did not get the service. I filled out the paperwork online, but when I came I had to spend another 45 minutes to fill out the paperwork. Then I had to pay $285 for co-payment in case my insurance did not cover. She said it will be refunded once the insurance paid, usually within 2 weeks. She spent almost an hour to take bunch of X-rays and not even finished when I had to leave. I came back a few days later for the cleaning and was told to pay another co-payment because she has not finished with the X-ray. Regardless, I didn't get the service I asked for (cleaning), was charged $285 and did not get the refund. It's been over 4 months and their EDC team and Accounting were not responsive at all. Save your headache and go somewhere else. I did not get any dental work done, but I won't be surprised if she will do much more extra work that you do not ask for. 6/8/23 update: This is in response to EDC comments to mine. I came to your place for cleaning only and did not ask for a comprehensive exam because my daughter just had her braces removed. Her orthodontist just completed a full exam after the braces was removed a week earlier. One or two xrays are understood, but not for full hour or more of xrays. All of these exams are no use to me and i dont even remember questions i asked nor your nonsense responses. As for yelp, I meant i should have checked your reviews before coming to your office for a visit. Fyi, i have tried contacting your EDC team and EDC accounting teams asking for the accounting report and refund, and received zero response to date. Here are the dates where email was sent to you: March 1, 2023 March 27, 2023 April 30, 2023 May 1, 2023 June 4, 2023 June 6, 2023 I would appreciate it if you could provide a reply to my inquiry. Thank you"

"There was a point in time when I failed numerous times to achieve that perfect work life balance. Blame it on my hectic schedule, tension, family pressure, and personal lifestyle. "I would not recommend this dental clinic. In August of 2021 I received care from Emeryville Dental. I used Emeryville because they were close to my work and had strong online reviews -- do not trust the positive reviews here. My entire experience was very upsetting and unlike any dental visit I have ever had. I received X-rays, an oral evaluation, a cleaning, and fluoride totaling $660. I paid this out of pocket. Emeryville Dental then billed my Dental insurance for $660. I had to contact Emeryville Dental several times to request my reimbursement, and finally received it in late October. My care was substandard and after my exam the dentist claimed that I several cavities. They immediately pressured me to make a quick follow up appointment to have the work done. Instead, I asked around my office and found another dentist that was recommended. The second opinion confirmed my long history of dental care -- I was fine, my teeth were in excellent shape, and he would not recommend any dental work. I will not be returning to Emeryville Dental, and I would not recommend their services to others."

"Honestly this is a great place. I don’t think I have had anyone look so deeply into my mouth and with such care as Dr.Magno. She was able to not only discover but actively treat several conditions that were not pointed by any of the 4 dentists I have been to in the last 3 years. She developed a treatment plan and always actively works with my budgeting needs (like a payment plan, breaking up fillings and extractions into several sessions vs one big one). In many ways I am very happy to have found her and so close to home. She may be pricier than the other dentist you found, but at least you’ll never have to replace any of the fillings she had made and won’t have to worry about your teeth with her on guard!"
