"I never write reviews but need to share my experience at Promenade Dental Group to warn others. I recently had a crown procedure done and the entire process was a nightmare. My initial appt took 4 hours with rushed efforts, lacked customer service, and I was left waiting in the dental chair for 45 minutes intermittently while the dentist tended to other patients. The dental assistant's constant coughing felt unsanitary, was inadequate at using the xray machine causing for hiccups there, and was negligent in her body awareness as she pulled my hair, hit my head with the equipment, and dropped tools on the ground and had to be told to replace it by the dentist. My appt was so long, I had a 2nd assistant who finished the temp crown cementing process and sent me on my way with no aftercare instructions and also lacked professionalism with a rushed demeanor. Following the procedure, I was in an immense amount of pain lasting for the entire week to follow. It felt like a mix of a sinus infection with a migraine 24/7. I had to self-diagnose it was due to my bite being too high on the temp crown side while all the dentist kept pushing was a root canal would be potentially needed. The minute I started wearing my bottom retainer to bridge the gap, all pain subsided within hours. I had to go a week later as my temporary crown fell off despite following any aftercare I could google as no one took the time to tell me anything while there. The day before my permanent crown appt they called and told me they'd need to delay my appt another week as the "lab had messed up something with my crown" while all over their office posters of "same day crowns no more waiting" are plastered everywhere. At this point I've been waiting 2 weeks for my permanent crown. I finally go back in and it doesn't fit properly, so they have to send it back again "due to the holidays, it wouldn't be ready until the new year" so I had to wait another 2 weeks for the crown to be adjusted. Finally come the new year, I have my appt and what is expected to be a relatively quick appt still took 2 hours as I was sent back and forth between the dental chair and xray machine at least 4 separate times as they made minor adjustments to my natural tooth. I wear Invisalign retainers at night time and made it known to them to make sure it would fit properly with my new crown. They said they'd check them at the end and still failed to do so and I had to remind them as they were saying I was good to go. Low and behold the retainer did not fit and the dentist was inadequate at fixing it and literally cut off the end of it that was not popping into place. For those who do not know, these retainers are not cheap and you have to pay out of pocket for them typically. The dental assistant came in and said he'd try to fix it and asked me why they cut the end of it off as if I have any dental knowledge to understand their mistake. He asked if I had any work done on my back molar to which replied no and he said they didn't need to cut the far end of my retainer off in the first place as that wasn't the issue. The crown made for me was wider than my original tooth which was causing a warped effect. The dental assistant had the audacity to say "next time you have work done or if you have another crown again, tell us you wear a retainer because then we'll scan your tooth to be an exact match" Is that not the point of crown to begin with? I have a poor habit of grinding my teeth and every appt the dentist asks me if I wear a retainer and I say YES. So now, I'm to blame for not knowing your dental processes and I'm to blame for your lack of noting your patients' details? They offered to make a new one for $150 (after already paid $1500 for this entire crown process) like you all needed more money to correct a mistake your team had done? The entire process was an absolute mess, I complained verbally to them after my first appt to give them the benefit of the doubt of fixing things before publicly posting this, but after everything I went through it feels a disservice to not warn others."
"I had to get my wisdom teeth extracted. Thankfully I got lucky and I only had two wisdom teeth. As someone with severe anxiety I was so scared about everything but the procedure went very well and it went super quick. I was mostly worried about being put to sleep but the surgeon was super nice and reassuring. I was awake but they used the IV sedation so I was very calm and just felt really tired. I only felt the needle for the numbing and then only heard scraping and felt a lil pressure but that was all. No pain at all during the procedure. It’s not as bad as people make it out to be. The worst part is the recovery in my opinion. Overall it was a very nice and relaxing experience. That’s very good coming from someone with severe anxiety."
"Awful experiences each time with everyone except front desk staff. Dentist actually told me, after my 3rd appt for pain from a new crown, to just ignore it. Ignore the fact I have new jaw pain, can't chew food on 1 side, and feel my bite is significantly changed. Thanks for that comprehensive dental advice. I'm so happy my new insurance starts soon so I can have this tooth finally fixed and be pain free."
"I had to change dentist providers after finding out that they were charging WAY more than what my out of pocket cost should’ve been. I had to submit a grievance against them with my dental insurance provider in order to get Some of my money back. Good dentist work but bad accounting in my experience. If you have concerns about pricing, call your dentist providers customer service and ask how much your out of pocket cost should be for that procedure. Theres also a booklet with all codes and pricing ( Explanations of benefits/coverage) request that and compare against what you’re being quoted."
"I’ve been out of a dentist for over 5 years between moving from the bay and having my family’s first child. I dreaded going to the dentist anyway but decided to make my appointment to get my teeth a much needed cleaning and inspection. It unfortunately came down to having a deep cleaning, scaling and lasering procedure to get them up to speed and back on track. The good people at Promenade were very helpful, and the Dr who performed the procedure made the experience as painless and comforting as possible. Despite getting 8 injections, the procedure wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be and I’m glad I went to them. I without a doubt highly recommend Promenade to anyone who is in the same boat as I was. Now I’m at a great place with my teeth where it’ll be much easier to maintain from here on out and with a good team and office to go to."
