"Last year I had the experience that is all too common these days, my existing Home Owners Insurance gave me a do not renew after 15 years due to a change in their policy. I worked with several insurance agents, one was too slow (they would finish the review of my submission several weeks after the expiration of my existing HO Insurance), one was too expensive (3x the cost of my current HO Insurance), but Leslie at Alive managed to get me insurance from a reputable carrier and I actually saved money! I had very little time to get new insurance, and the last week before my HO policy expired Leslie had scheduled a vacation. I was apprehensive that I would not be able to finalize the insurance in her absence. Her colleague, Natalie, seamlessly stepped into Leslie's place, and Leslie followed up via email while on vacation too. The Alive Insurance Services Inc is an excellent team of brokers. I never thought I needed an insurance broker. But in the current market in California, I don't see how you can negotiate insurance without one. I felt like someone was on my side, and spoke to me bluntly about what my options were to address the suddenly emergent issue. Unfortunately, several of my colleagues and acquaintances had similar experiences with getting a do not renew on their insurance or experiencing unexpected rate increases.
