"First: I did my research and visited 3 separate dental arts facilities. I must have called 10 or 15 places over the course of 3 years. All the while my current dentist at the time would recommend expensive "band aid" type fixes like painful root scaling, 5 cleanings a year, root canals,crowns turned bridges,ect$$$$. I finally made the last payment to care credit and said I'm done with this! You get what you pay for! This is the take away here. Bonita Del Rey was my final saving grace. I was sure I wasn't a candidate as many other dentists said I would need extensive bone graphs that take 6 to 12 months. The staff at Bonita Del Rey walked me through every department from reception to CT scan to there cutting edge technology graphics display and some things I still can't pronounce. I was amazed and let's say a little overwhelmed, but in a good way. Afterwards I met the surgeon who would transform my hideous smile into what my colleagues now call "Hollywood " smile. Lol. I am 55 and had extensive periodontal disease and missing teeth for decades. Dr. Rudy Espinoza came in after evaluating my CT scan, said congratulations you are a candidate for "all on 6" permanent teeth! In 1 day!! Yes that's right 1 day! I drive a commercial truck class A. I'm not wealthy. I did the simple math. In less then 10 years I already spent more then what this permanent solution would cost. The choice was simple, and my new,very comfortable teeth look better then I imagined. I can shred an ear of corn, And my favorite is partially dehydrated fruit.. It has the toughness and texture of a piece of shoe leather people! No problem now. Ok here it is... The surgery took 1 day. I came in in the morning, and was out by three o'clock. There was almost no pain as they used this cutting edge laser for healing. I was given a set of temporary teeth to let the rest of the healing to take place. It's not a denture and has no plate on the roof of mouth,but its permanently fixed with 6 solid implants that look just as good as The permanent zirconia that I chose. Share my face with a little swollen. For a few days and the rules were simple in the beginning. I was told not to use a straw. In eat Only liquids for just two days. No problem. After that for about 2 weeks. I eat soft foods like casseroles ,oatmeal in the morning. You get the picture. By day 30 I was lightly chewing trying to be careful Of course, Still no pain, no problems. By the 3rd month. I was told the implants are solid and I'm ready for my permanent zirconia, harder than steel teeth. I'm not sure I can describe zirconia. It seems like Glass. But they're far from it they're almost indestructible and guaranteed for life. I have heard of Zurconia and it's been referred to as white metal. I trail mix with Corn nuts,drink coffee,Chew gum, and have a beautiful smile, that boosted my confidence. Going in for routine cleanings and scalings would be a thing of the past. I'm now 8 months in and they feel great. All my routine dental appointments are done;as I said. I'm 55 I now have a 41 year old girlfriend with a rock hard body,and i'm not looking back! Best decision of my life!!"
