"The local dental society referred me to Dr. George when I moved to San Diego 35 years ago. I have been a raving fan fan of his office since my first visit. I recommend him highly! The more years I stayed with the practice the more I came to appreciate him. I also noticed similarities between him and my previous dentist; I came to find out they were both USC Dental School grads. It was nice to know that there was something that explained it. Now I know that if I ever leave California, all I need to do to find a new dentist is to (again) call the local Dental Society and ask if there is a local USC grad practicing in the area. USC instills a practical sense of patient-centered dentistry in their training. Here’s an example. One visit he was filling a cavity and noticed my hands were clenching the chair arms. He immediately paused what he was doing to ask me if he were hurting me. I chuckled, said “No, I didn’t realize I was doing that. I’ll relax now. You just built up a big store of trust.” I wish I could say I’ve never grabbed the chair arms again, but I even remember to relax my hands on the steering wheel when I’m driving now! I hope this conveys the feelings of relief I now have when I’m at the dentist, or oral surgeon, or something similar."
